ICE dealers charge a fortune for installations (even after loyal discounts) :(
I've always got any work done by a pro but you don't learn anything about the mods from paying someone to do it - we all have to start somewhere
Bought myself a Haynes manual today so that's a step in the right...
How exactly do I swap a h/u ? :o
What tools are need to to get the old h/u out?
Do the wires just "plug-in" ?
If I already have an amp installed , is there extra setting up or wiring required when I swap the h/u?
I have the JVC KD SHX701 h/u, thinking of putting in an Alpine 9855R :)...
Sweeet :)
I have a JVC h/u at the min with Focal comps/coaxils/sub + audison amp
They sound great but i'm just thinking of changing the h/u and adding a 2nd amp :)
Cheers Chorley
We all have to start somewhere - local ICE places are charging £35-85 for h/u swap and fitting steering adapters
Bendee - you even have the same dash setup :) love the climate control
How do you find the glidebar?
The lights suit the colour of your car so looks mint, saying that I rarely like a red car unless its a prancing horse ;)
Have to say I really love your spoiler
Took it back twice and they told me the car goes into "sleep mode" after a period of time to prevent the battery running flat or whatever.
Told me the same abuout a megane they fitted the same alarm to. In other words, they are saying its a renault thing that disables it.
So after this time...
I always wanted to know why the car has to be out of "sleep mode" to activate the remote headlights :S
If you leave the car for a while - you have to unlock the doors so the car is "awake" to enable remote headlights.
Bit annoying sometimes when you can't "play" with the lights without...
Priced Pirelli and Goodyear too - waaaay over my budget and few days to wait on them - paid for my FKs today :approve:
It was between the 2 in question as I needed to get the tyres urgent;
roads around here are in bad shape and I wasn't taking any chances with wonky tyres.
The arse of the...
Got 2 front tyres in desperate need of replacing :dapprove:
I have Avon 205/40/17 W ZZ3 RF all-round and have done me 18 months - no probs :)
Priced around today - the Avon I have on are £90 a piece
Marangoni (not sure what model) are £60 a piece
Been told that both of these tyres are...
You still not got that sorted Boydie?
Hope mine doesn't go down that road - looks rough
Fingers crossed the "geniuses" at reno can come up with something if the AA couldnt figure it out
Honestly, I'm not all that clued-up on car audio as I got mine fitted, trying now to start doing my own work :)
But if your'e asking about replacing the front door speakers with components - it should be ok as crossovers came with my speakers - unsure what you mean by mids though :S
I just changed my speakers after I got my head unit, long before I got an amp in - just added in stages
I've got Focal Components in the front and Focal coaxils in the rear - both are 13cm (5 1/4") You can put bigger speakers in with some modifications if you are willing
Im selling my...
I asked exactly the same questions when choosing my alarm..
Wanted the Blackjax, tilt/motion & prox sensors on mine - added the remote headlights too (car needs to be "awake" )
Professionaly fitted - £450 all in I thought was ok - never had any bother yet :)
