Pic Request - Headunit

i went for the 9853R as goes with the dashboard colour better. The illumination is good as well as you can change various different parts to different colours so I have matched it all to the orange on the dash - looks good. Ask Lee (moderator) for some pictures or have a look in the ice section on here - there are bound to be some pictures in there
Haven't got any dark pics of it overall only got some showing the screen. The cluster of four buttons can be changed to whatever colour you like and the others can either be white or orange which matches the dash quite well. I've seen some pictures on here somewhere in the last few days but I can't seem to find them.

I went for the 9853R for the same reason, it sits fairly flush too. Not too fancy but has all the features and loads more I'll never use. I just wish they would bring the stalk adaptor out for 05 Clios, as the glide strip is a pig to use on bumpy roads, I can never keep my finger on it.

i have the ipod Alpine KCA-420i - it works great unless you have an ipod video - it will still work perfectly and sounds great with all music but if you are hoping to watch video back on the ipod and have sound out of the car speakers then best bet would be to use the headphone out on the ipod into the cd changer in on the back of the head - this way whatever you play on the ipod will come out of the head unit. With the KCA-420i plugged in all buttons and display on the ipod turn off and then the ipod can only be operated by using the buttons on the head unti. I love it - looks really professional and is handy as F*ck but main reason I wanted it was for video purposes so I was a bit pissed. I may change to the method I explained above soon so may sell the 420i

I fitted mine with absolutly no knowledge of fitting, it was a bit tricky at first then i read the instructions haha (typical male ay)
if you have no confidence at all get a mate to help.

The headunit isnt totally flush but doest bother me (i thought it would when i was looking at them aswell)
If you have a ipod defo get the conector its so much better than messing around with cd's searching for a song with the headunit is also a pain but i just disconect the ipod and use that, but normally its on random.

the glidetouch is allright its not amazing but nothing that should put you off the headunit, tricky to use at first but fine after a while kinda like the ipod touchwheel thingy.
if you have the standard headunit and speakers youll see the sound quility difference straight away shiiiite loads more bass and its alot loader.
