Aux belt normally goes between the bottom crank sprocket and the belt, iv never seen this happen and the engine still run so i dont think you should be too worried.
Theres a chance the running problem is something else.
If it were me id lock the crank, pop the cam plugs out and have a look.
Just spoke to them, cannot offer an explanation to why its gone up.
I was expecting it to go up a bit but £300?? Naah not buying it..

Nope. Chance are you've got a leak. If theres no pressure in the system (3 bar iirc) then the compressor wont cut in.

As above, ideally get the track rod end glowing cherry red and it'll undo a piece of piss.
Your best bet without oxy is to get big vice grips on the track rod and give it some hammer, might crack it off... Hammer the grips that is dont start trying to bend the track rod!
