Mate, ive had two myself and heard countless others with powerflow, they are generally loud as f**k! When i took mine to have another silencer welded in the guy could not believe it already had two silencers, said theres nothing else he could with it.
Its behind the steering wheel, its the connection for the horn and airbag wiring. You can only turn it so many times in one direction.
Start it up and check airbag light goes out and horn works.
Unless a balljoints got play in it then its pointless changing it, same goes for any suspension component.
Put the money in a pot for when it does go wrong.
That would make sense also. its definately shorting through somewhere.
Thinking about it, ive seen quite a few with water in the rear light connector so thats possible.
Id be checking from the live terminal on the alternator to the battery earth, this tells you exactly what the alternator is doing.
As said put all your consumers on, u want atleast 13v output from the alternator.
Theres a torx bolt on the front of the block below the oil filter, think its an E14 socket but not 100%. Remove it and you can insert a long 8mm punch or similar to lock the crank, obv cylinder 1/4 need to be on TDC to do this.
