When mine was playing up I played about with all the relays and plugs to see if it was a bad connection, didnt make any difference at all. Lights flickereing was completely random, It'd be fine for a while then start playing up again. I even removed the UCH, stripped it and checked for water...
Would love one of these, Good friend of mine is an ex Alfa tech tho so ive heard too many horror stories. Pretty sure its these that wear out the rear beam?
Also dont forget a 150A fuse doesnt blow as soon as it see's 151A. Probably be a few seconds at 170A+ before it pops.
So probably no need to worry, If it hasnt blown it yet then its probably fine.
As Mick said, deffo sounds load related. I had a very similar fault years ago, wouldnt rev up and shift light was coming. Turned out to be a bad engine earth, took ages to find.
What do you mean by it was 'dropping coolant'? I assume you mean the coolant level is going down with no visible leaks from anywhere? You dont see many head gaskets go on F4R's, theyre pretty bomb proof so id get some proper diag by someone who knows what theyre doing.
Ive only just noticed just how far over to the right the pedals are! The clutch pedal is in line with the centre of the wheel, mental. Still, seems comfy enough.
I are confused.
Theres a perfectly suitable earth on the rear panel, the earth for the rear lights. No need to run an earth all the way back to that earth point. This is the reason the body is earthed!
So you want to sand down the slam panel to use as an earth? It will soon go rusty and look shite.
Just use the standard earth behind the headlight, wont need sanding because its already bare.
