^^ Yea spot on. The ECU limits how far the throttle body actual opens ( fly by wire ) for emissions regulations. Cable throttle conversion would be better, but this could help i spose.
yea, does it feel like its going into gear, or does the gearstick feel like ya stirrin porridge?? Could be the splines on the OS gearbox output gone, seen that before.
A rounded off plug?? weird. On the 1.2's the rubber end of the plug lead gets stuck on the spark plug, it feels like the socket is just spinning. Something to check for
If its just a clip test you want, and a fault code printout then usually they charge half hours labour. If they're gonna look into the fault further then they'll charge an hour, which is fair enough.
I got a new set for free, didnt realize theye were worth £320! Usually messes em up if theyre squeezed or cleaned when theyre removed. They sometimes do stop rattling though, maybe worth a good thrap in 2nd before you strip it again.
There not much, motor factors should have them in stock. Its a 2 pin connector, so its easy to test if its working. Also check the fuses before stripping. Cant remember which fuse the reverse light works off, dont think it has its own seperate fuse tho. Would be in the passenger footwell fusebox.
Probably find that the reverse light switch on the gearbox has failed. Its near the passenger side driveshaft seal on the gearbox, it has a green or brown connector.
