^^ TDC faults can sometimes make starting hard when the engine is hot.. its not always as simple as it will start or it wont. My TDC sensor failed, would crank the engine for ages and it wouldnt start, when i rolled it down a hill it would bump start straight away :S Changed TDC and connector...
1. More than likely TDC sensor. New sensor and connector £40 ish.
2. Possible NSF speed sensor or instrument panel fault. 172 cup speedo was driven off the gearbox, non cups used the NSF Abs sensor for the speedo.
3. ?? Possible instrument panel fault, could be linked to the above speedo...
^^ yea ive got the same thing. I fitted one for a few weeks, on hard accellaration ive got a banging noise, ive replaced all the mounts for standard ones but its still the same.

These ' Renault are so s**t ' threads get on my tits, if you dont like renaults dont buy one, if you dont...
Your a plank!! haha ony messing. Its deffo a 3/8th square hole, quite tricky to get on tho.. Id advise you to remove the front bumper, slam panel and headlight. Then put a jack under the sump (with a piece of wood obv) remove top engine mount and jack up the engine. Gives u better access and...
Fiats are shockin terrible... within a year it'll want an exhaust and full front to rear brake pipes... renault aint all bad. Bit rattley but if you ant sumat that dont rattle buy a BM.
Sounds like a fuel pressure problem.. black smoke is possibly unburnt fuel, which could be a blocked air filter or and injector problem.. one other thing to check is the EGR valve.. they get carboned up and eventually get stuck open or closed which ruins performance.
Its behind the drivers side headlight.. looks like a big spring with a roller on the end.. requires a 3/8 th square drive to take the tension off the belt.
Best thing to do is take the aux belt off and then run the engine as normal. If the noise goes that confirms that its something on the aux belt i.e tensioner, alternator, PAS. While the belts off check for play in all the pulleys and give them a spin. If it feels rough then the bearings gone and...
Traction control is controlled between the abs computer and the injection computer. It uses the wheel speed sensors to determine if the wheels are locked/ spinning. Tyre tread or low pads would have no affect on the light being permanently on. There will probably be a stored fault on the abs...
Mine kept doing this... make sure the rubber hangar on the centre section is stretched with the exhaust in its normal position...that might mean you have to undo the clamp and twist the centre section. It may also be worth bodging up the rear hangar as they are very weak.
