thats really helpful gary - nice 1. lol!
I sort of guessed that much but if the gap is too big then I am going to have to get the Leda's. I am very tempted anyway. Nick at Hill Power recommends lowering on H&R's 15mm from standard for optimum handling/ride which isnt enough for me especially...
After a trip to GDi today I can honestly say I am stunned - Andy took me for a spin in his 182 demo car - WOW! The handling is something else - Until now I thought that these shocks were massively overpriced and did not expect them to give the qualities that they provide - they really are...
alright gary/andy - just got home - what a bloody drive! I hate my car at the moment!
Best value for money in my opinion is inlet matched - I shall be heading back to GDI very soon - will let you kow what difference it makes to my car.
i started mine with 40 grit oxide paper - halfords do a really good selection. I think I went a bit over the top mind - I used about 8 different grades in total - looks cool now though - could still be shinier though so may have to get a buffing wheel
i had 2 1/2 inch first but was mental - When giving it a balst it sounded wicked but at 70/80 on the motorway it was a nightmare - with the stereo right up could still hear the exhaust plainly - Charlie kindly changed it FOC
try pushng the aerial lead to the right - it has to come right across the back of the stereo and caused me loads of hassle. also then try and push the rest of the wires in to the gap on the left and down of the cage - good luck
If anyone wants a KCA-420i for their alpine head unit I now have one for sale - £30 posted. It works greta for music so all other ipods would be fine - it just doesnt work with film on the new 5th generation ipod
Just ripped out the Alpine KCA 420i that Mike at Rentech fitted for me a few months ago - although it worked for music it was not possible to have the sound from films coming through the car system. So bought an Alpine MP3 connection wire which plugs into the CD changer input and then into the...
I have a 172 but if I was buying onee I would get a 182 with Cup Packs - the extra spoilers and wheels etc are worth it - plus it will be newer, have more warranty left (important with renaults!) definately have cruise control (only the very latest 172's had crusie) plus 10bhp more etc. Mine is...
shocks were second hand - covered about 8000 miles miles - they were bought in may 2005. Have gone from a car that handled amazingly and looked a bit crap to a car that looks great but handles shite
they were the two nuts that we took off when we removed the shocks IIRC - worked fine on my car - Im gutted I sold them now coz I cant get mine set up any where near as good as it was with those
definately seems a bit better at the rear - did not push too much as Im nakered and booting it around cardiff at 7.00am aint a good idea!
The main problem I have now is tramlining - the car pulls all over the road under hard acceleration - to the point where its hard to keep it in the correct...
After lowering my 172 I now notice a lot of the braking is being done at the rear - should I adjust the valve underneath and if so HOW??
Fred it definately looks more and more like I am coming to see you on Sunday!
hows it handling now? did mine the other day and its a bit sketchy at the mo - have sorted it a bit by doing camber, tracking and adjusting air pressures in back tyres but still a bit shakey! gonna adjust the damping a bit again tomorrow to see if that sorts it - otherwise im off too see fred...
yeah tell me about it - have to work nights for 3-7 days a month - no big deal though - get 3 days off afterwards. Plus means Im going home when everyone else is getting up and feeling crap. Its only til friday night plus it means if there is anything I need to do during the day I can
just checked the pressures on the back tyres and they were quite high - i had new tyres last week - one side was set at 35psi and the other at 33psi which is more than I have ever put in a tyre so have taken them both down to 30psi - have to go work in an hour so will test it then.
since fitting my FK coilovers my car feels very tail happy - any one got any ideas , I have had the camber and tracking done, but it feels very unsafe at the moment - to the point where I am tempted to go back to o.e and just stick some Apex springs on (kind of wish I had done that in the first...
