I have fitted FK coilovers but not sure about raising/lowering the rear - do I have to disconnect the shock in order to give the less tension on the platform from the spring or is it ok to adjust when the car is jacked up - will the spring dig into the thread on the platform?
lowered my 172 today - used FK konigsport coilovers - I thhink i have it oo low at the moment so will raise it tomorrow - seems to be rubbing a tiny bit at the front - think it is where a piece of the inner arch sticks down to cover the bumper mount - has anyone done a fix for this??

fitted mine today and the front are nearly right to the top and it is still low as fook - are you able to get stiffer springs yoz as these seem too soft.
also is there a way of tightening the front top mounts properly - the central thread does not stick out enough to get a spanner or socket...

any ideas on how to clean the threads on the front shocks - tried engine degreaser with toothbrush etc but not much coming off - dont want to use a wire brush incase it pulls the 'zinc' coatin off - wot do you reckon?

cardiff mate - one of my mates is supposed to be fitting them on saturday but he has only ever fitted Spax coilovers - just want to make sure we know where the parts go - was gonna get fred to fit but Im skint til next weekend plus Im workin that weekend so it would be a few weeks before I could...
there are 2 washers, a flat round one and a round one with raised bits on it - do these go above the bearing or below and does the rubber doughnut look like a dome (wider at the bottom than the top)
somone else on here posted a picture of some they had just had painted next to a blue 16v - have a look for it in the pictures section - should be about 3/4 pages back. They looked nice!

cool - shall be doing that then - should stop it tarnishing as well. Saying that though I just remembered it says long lasting protection on the Auto Glym metal polish anyway so shouldnt tarnish too bad - my exhaust stays looking good easily.
just a cloth - bought some polishing cloths from halfords to save wrecking my girlfriends tea towels lol.
Also if anyone knows - is that true - should I treat it to stop it tarnishing and if so what should i use?
