OMP subframes and some universal sidemounts from Ebay - here. If i'm honest the seat doesn't sit too well on the OMP subframes as they aren't central (either the seat sits slightly over to the left or the right) Could easily get around it by drilling some more holes in the subframes.
They were...
It's a corbeau sprint mate
Good idea, just checked and they're 38.5 so definitely Cup turini's. The MAPs stud kit sounds like a good option, is there a difference in price compared to the PMS kit?
Finally got round to having a go at fitting the Brembo's today only to be stopped in my tracks because they don't clear the wheels!
I was under the impression you could run meg calipers with 280mm discs and cup turinis without spacers but apparently not.
This means the Brembo's will be put on...
Had a little go at cleaning up the new brakes earlier before giving them a couple of coats of paint. I've gone for yellow because they looked best in my Photoshop attempt (pictured below)
Got the E-tech caliper paint kit as i've seen some impressive results on YouTube. They look a bit crap in...
Cheers pal. My original plans where to go for a mint OEM spec Cup but i'm increasingly swaying towards making it more track focused. Trying my best to strike a balance between the two.
So this happened recently... fully stripped at the rear except for the roof lining. I was debating about it for a while, but given that I can keep the interior stored away in the shed for now I thought i'd try it anyway.
It's now extremely loud as everything is amplified and I love it. I...
I also fitted uprated engine and gearbox mounts and get the exact same whine whilst slowing down or speeding up, just cruising along in 4th or 5th and I can hear it. Pretty sure it's just vibration / increased noise as it's been this way for around 4 months now and it hasn't changed.
Loving the plans you've got for the car mate, nothing beats an OEM well kept Cup. You've done exactly what i've just done suspension wise, it's a great setup for the money.
I'm in Tunbridge Wells mate, about an hour away from Kyle. I take it you live pretty closely to him as you're in essex?
Just checked Facebook and realised I've met you briefly before at FCS last year. You were parked up next to him weren't you? the car looked epic. Mine was completely standard...
Haha cheers man, i've literally just ordered some silvervisions now!
Nice car mate, never been on track before so will be good fun, yours looks a little higher spec though. What sort of power/mods do you have?
As long as you're referring to just high boost conversions @davo172 then I agree. @masekwm has the right idea, low boost and more money towards a diff + better brakes will make the car way more enjoyable!
Cheers mate, it's always been my intention from day one to keep it looking almost standard
Thanks mate, I had the wheels refurbished by Lepsons. They did them in a colour they call 'Bright Sparkle silver' which was their nearest match to the brand new Turini centre caps I showed them. The match...
Cheers mate for the kind words. I quite like the badge on the back, I have no idea if the car came with them on the rear from factory but it looks good in my opinion...
I got the shocks from here, 40% off at the moment, all genuine Renault parts and super fast delivery. Not sure on solid top...
Seeing your car nail it around Cadwell makes me think I should have left the Cup N/A. Loving what you've done with this car mate and the spec you've got it to is spot on.
A little update on what has been going on with the car. 1,000 miles since I last posted and the car has never let me down once. Managed to get myself some new genuine Cup shocks all round for just £157 so thought it would be rude not too!
Cleaned under the arches whilst I was there. Planning on...
I have the Eibach Pro lines and they were awful up until today. Literally just fitted new genuine Cup shocks all round and suddenly the ride is so much better, far less crashy.
I've heard about this being an issue. Not that I know of no. Without sounding like an idiot i'm guessing i'd know if they had because of the noise / loss of power?
I've been running the Engine Dynamics low boost kit for 2,000 miles now as my daily and no problems so far. It's running 230bhp and 235lb-ft which is perfect for a daily car, you get a decent amount of power and the reliability too.
I guess only time will tell as the miles rack up but 2k in and...
Cheers mate I am, well worth the money. Just been through your project thread and loving what you've done to the 182. It sits so nicely! I think Bilstein's are next on my list now lol
I'm two weeks into having the ED low boost kit fitted now and still finding it amazing. No issues so far and i've given it some more times that I can remember lol. The car made 235lb-ft and 231bhp. No idea what it's as fast as or can keep up with and not too bothered if i'm being honest.
Going...
