Petrol, dont know yet! About 80 gallons worth though
Special insurance, just need a 'Green Card', basically takes you from TPFT to fully comp abroad. Costs about £30
To all those saying 'i wanna do something like this', the best thing is dont plan it just do it! If you start thinking about...
Planning - None. Its 6 of one and half a douzen of another weather this is wise. We just booked the Eurostar/ferry over and somewhere to stay the 1st night, then took it from there. It was good that way because we didnt have to be anywhere at any certain time. Our sat nav would search for local...
The MPG was at 38.9 by the time we hit Barca, but a mixture of city driving and 100mph average speed home put it down.
Oh, and we didnt pay for parking once! Just park it anywhere, they're not exactly gonna chase you for a ticket now are they ;)
Milan was a nightmare, we couldnt find the...
So, a few months ago me and the g/f decided to think about holidays. Now she doesnt like to be in the same place for too long as she gets bored easily, and id already been on a lads holiday to Magaluf in June, so we decided something different was required. A few options were mentioned, then...
Going Halifax in West Yorkshire to Dover, setting off at 6am and have to be there at 2.45pm. Obviously gonna be early but rather be there.
European breakdown has been purchased, i dont trust the Clio that much! Green card also aquired, so im fully comp in Europe. New brakes this week, tyre...
Shes all packed (well nearly), TomToms loaded, and has got her headlight convertors on and GB sticker nicely placed ready for her jaunt across Europe
Was touch and go today seeing as we were booked on the Eurotunnel at 4pm tomorrow, but luckily managed to cancel for full refund and get booked...
Ive got my Brembo Max discs but still no pads, so ill get some this week. Firstly, best place to get them from, and secondly any discount for CS members?
Im thinking of RedStuff, as dont wanna pay an arm and a leg for Ferrodo or what you call them?!
I was thoroughly disappointed by Trax, in my opinion it was poorly set out out pretty boring considering the 20 quid entrance fee. The 'shops' if you can call them that were all geared towards lil chavs with about 60-70% of them just to do with bass and chrome! 300 mile round trip, and i wont go...
Ive done a few searches, but i don t want trach pads or £100 pads so which set of front pads are decent for normal road use and not more pricey than the discs?!
That turn arounds abit quick, where i get mine done for £1 an inch they're in the oven all night to get down to the metal then again when they've been powdercoated, plus they do the whole inside and out
They'll look good on though, just a b*****d to keep clean!
Just two of us going, so boot space isnt needed really. One big factor is the Clio has a spare, whereas the MINI is on runflats - no good in a blowout. The MINI has a full glass sunroof (good for when the sun comes out) and aircon but the Clio only has aircon, and they both have xenons.
Is...
..on a Continental road trip?
Have the Eurostar booked for Sept 13th, and hope to end up in Barcelona via France and Northern Italy.
Now we were all set to go in my 2002 82k mile 172, but the g/f has just bought a 40k Mini Cooper S with the full glass roof among loads of other options...
My black 51 plate 172 had 104k on it when it got written off in May 2007 so add to that the 20k i did in my new one last yr and it'd be on near 130k now
Bascially i had them powdercoated black then masked off the wheel, used a really thin detailing strip to get the curve then used just normal masking tape and newspaper for the rest of the rim. Used wet and dry to sand the bit i wanted to spray, then primered it using Halfords red primer. Two or...
Front splitter yea, had one for a while but met a high curb :(
I painted in myself, or rather sprayed it. Used fine detailing tape to mask the edge, then covered the rest using newspaper and normal masking tape
Its lowered on Eibachs Sportlines i think they are, and Koni ride adjustable shockers
PH1 15s, mine PH2 16s. The red rim bits been done on loads of other wheels
Callipers are black, not into lairy red callipers. Think flame red diamonds, and a different red rim would look s**t, im gonna leave them std thinking about it
The red is just erm red lol, its actually Hammerite red! Did toy with having it Flame Red but wouldn't show up as much, plus if i sell them which i inevitably will i didnt want them to just look good on a Flamer
Another question, leave diamonds as they are or maybe red?
...and here's the result

IMO the pics dont do them justice at all, the red rim is very red and looks amazing! Taken me long enough and have treated them with two coats of Poorboys so hopefully should be fine
Ive fitted my phone kit, but cant get my numbers onto it, it works fine with calling etc but just the numbers. Looked in the book and it just says if it isnt automatic then search in my phone manual but cant see anything in there!
