I rang Renault the other day to see what to put in my 172, they told me they put 10w40 in everything, and thats what we use at Ford so i put that in! Shouldnt i have done? It was free, but i also had some 5w40 but they said that was too thin!

Ive posted on CT, ive got the box out of my VTR at work, it fits a 1.4 Furio, which is the same engine as in the 1.4 206, so i think it'll probably fit! It wouldnt get reverse which is why i swopped it, but ive fixed that now, excellent workmanship at Perrys in Hudds was the cause :(

Mines done 95k and struggles to get over 30mpg without me going in the fun zone! Give abit maybe 1% of the time, the other 99% driving steady, and it shows about 29mpg! On the motorway yesterday i got 31mpg though, WOW!!

Yes you are right! You've failed on a broken spring, and it is normal practice to replace both, but if your lowering it then its these springs which you replace! Get just one spring from someone, and fit it until you can afford the lowering springs. It'll get you throught your MOT at least

My VTR and my mums 1.1 did this, now my 172 does it! Gonna throw some plugs and leads on it next weekish because its got a tracking plug, see if it makes any difference to idle

Test it by before you start the car, spray some WD40 on the belt, then turn it over like normal, and see if it stops the noise
