Bet you feel a little daft now :)
Have a good time Nossin mate, I'd love to try it myself!
edit: and make sure you post any progress you have with it. Everyone is interested to know about these things that don't get tried much
There is no chance that the power steering is all wrong for some reason.
I know that power steering essestially works on strain gauges that sense twist in the steering column and then assist the steering.
Sounds to me like an electrical fault has fooked the calibration and is causing super...

So did you expect a 3mm thick gasket to exactly fit your port sizes? Otherwise you should have always expected this problem of expansion?

Developments in returning this gasket
I sent:
Hi, I received the PTFE gasket very quickly thankyou.
I'd like to organise the return and refund of this item as the quality is not really acceptable. None of the ports are quite right, holes are poorly drilled and one of the holes has...
172 4>1 manifolds are fairly cheap. the 182 manifold is 4>2>1 and better so go for around £200/£250. A 172 one is easily had for about £80 maybe £65

Look nasty but do the trick
errr no, cos the throttle is controlled on a stepper motor.
But it's easy and neat enough to mount on the pedal itself. If you were rich/geeky enough I'm sure it could be linked to the engine management
Clearly doesent know anything about NOS or how it can be done properly and how you can get a lot of exhileration and fun out of it. This is why most of us are here on this forum - trying to make the most of our cars. :rasp:
