The adapter you want is a Connects2 Adapter. Piece of piss to fit the stereo as long as you have the correct harness. The only annoying bit is getting all the wires to fit behind the unit and threading the microphone through the A-pillar if it's a standalone microphone(bluetooth).

When I knocked mine off, I just had the punch at an angle towards the top and hammered it until it split. Only took about 3 or 4 medium bangs. Absolute doddle mate. Just make sure you don't jolt and hit the wheel! Pad the wheel off if you have too!

Tbh, I couldn't work out if that was a spinning collar on yours or rust. Use a punch to knock the collar off if it is one :D

No, it's not the standard Renault one. I'm sure (on my 197 anyway) they are pin locking nuts with a spinning collar. That looks easy enough to hammer a socket over and get off that way.

For a rebuild and fitted, you're looking at roughly 1.2K. Rule everything out first before you jump to assuming it's the box/Synchro tho.
