Hello I'm looking at upping the rate of my springs on my gaz gha coilovers - standard rear platform.
Im looking at going for:
-450lb/78nm front
-500lb/90nm rear
is that about right for a standard rear platform being a 2:1 ratio or would i need a 250lb spring?
Went out with the go pro today, not much done at all, feels like a storms coming, but harness eye bolts installed.
Photos to follow. gonna go on laptop rather than phone.
I should of bought shares in cap head bolts/rivets before you put those windows in
haha, looks good, not a fan of the stickers but its your car and your o
Thats fair enough, top dad!
Im gonna go with estimates:
-Pas pump 4kg and piping/resivouir 2kg
but the weight I've saved is...
Right ok, no problem mate. just need to remove ignition barrel as steering column needs to be welded in where the barrel is basically.
Yeah thats currently what I've got in my 182, just haven't got round/the knowledge to do away with it yet. So basically lights/wipers controlled by relays?
I should of bought shares in cap head bolts/rivets before you put those windows in ;)
haha, looks good, not a fan of the stickers but its your car and your opinion that matters :)
Yep thought so, do you know what colour live i should cut is? i think when i tested the live in position 2 it was yellow wire. i can't test again as i don't how any looms in currently.
Can i remove the ignition barrel all together?
What i was originally thinking is locating the ignition barrel...
Hello, yep are you thinking of going epas? or just manual steering?
as I would recommend epas! love it, I've heard of lot of people hating manual also - I think have PAS while in a tank slapper while give you the extra input you need to control it quicker...
but yep, loop the 2 ports in the...
Hey guys, currently I'm wiring in my kill switch (it is the 4 terminal one) I have chosen to wire the kill switch onto the earth cable instead of the live.
I have heard of many motorsport companies doing this so theres no chance of anything touching it from behind and causing a fire etc etc and...
Yep it is, every time i look at the front end picture above i wish i could still have it as my track car.
I would agree with you there, i believe min was from the water coming in through the bump strips as there was water makes every clip.
ahh thats good/refreshing to hear mate, hopefully the...
Thank you mate, appreciate the feed back, I've been looking at it for a while like, is this right kinda thing haha...
Hey ho, and yep i really can't wait to get it on track February 27th is the first i think and hopefully i can sneak a local one in beforehand, little disappointed the suspension...
So another weekend on the car brings another couple of updates...
In the day Friday I found some time to go collect some custom side mounts, got a local fabrication place to make some sidemounts 25mm wider each side.
After that I excited trial fitted the seat, lot of time faffing drilling...
Thanks bud!
And £140 for motorsport version for both, soo good price, and the owner is in Poland.
I'm hoping they've been delivered to my work so I'll check later on.
Any pics on your thread of it? [emoji16]
So day off today meant a few things done.
Still awaiting an engine mount and a gearbox mount from racing flex - which seem to be taking the piss slightly, non fault to the guy who organised bless him, seems to be getting the blame a bit. But hey.
Thanks to the very quick delivery from Chris...
Don't get to held up on the mileage of the f4r, its more about the service history and if they have been warmed up properly etc - especially if its just going to be for track, i would lower your budget for spending (so maybe the outcome being a higher mileage car) and have the money spare to...
A little update, Picked up some standard non sport headlights for the 182 from Craig, while he's going custom loom I also took the liberty and cut the Ph2 plugs off his engine loom.
Headlights are in great condition, I didn't contemplate going xenons, but they're heavy and expensive - and...
ahh I wanna be just like a WRC car lols ;)
I guess it won't hurt to have the cable in there aswell as the hydro... Thanks for your input though, always good to have someone who's knows what they're talking about looking in.
Yeah that's fair enough, The handbrake doesn't get used, and it's always left in gear on my flat drive... and both my mates rally cars are road legal with hydros with MOTs etc. So should be reet
Any other reason other than the fluid loosing pressure as to why it's a no no to your MOT'er...
I will put them in the boot for MOT, the guy I know is usually pretty good for low road mileage cars like mine, as long it's to a good standard, which mine hopefully is.
Your thoughts?
Also? I can't see the other post?
andd it will be road legal yes, to pass the MOT (if that's what you're referring to) I have put a split pin in the handbrake mechanism with disables the ratcheting system, once removed the enables the ratcheting system.
Yep have a look at my project thread, exactly what I've just done.
Yeah braided lines are expensive though plus the unions are more expensive than normal copper unions.
But braided is a lot nicer looking, and I think actually easier to plumb in the unions.
