Very oldschool! I'd love to try film but I wouldnt have a clue where to start. shame as some of the landscapes taken with half plate film are awesome!

Not sure on the compact. I have a kodak Easyshare 12mp and its spot on, nice and easy to use. As for hosting, Flickr + pro upgrade. I use both flickr and photobucket and don't trust photobucket one bit. My files were lost twice.

Your best of going into jessops and having a go of both and see what feels best for you. I would always say canon because i've owned all of their ranges 1000D, 300D, 20D and a 1D and can't fault them in any way.

... I reckon my f4 version will be going a journey, i want a 2.8!!! Brilliant first set though!!!

Im keen to see the results from the 2.8 version, It may spur me on to eventualy get one!

I use mine for sport too, i shoot wildlife simply for the detail you can get out of the 8mp with this L lens. As said mines the F4 version, couldnt justify the 2.8 price at the time, and it's superb. Fast focusing and a nice focal length to not miss having a zoom. I used to have a 70-300 on...

I importa all mine into lightroom, select the ones i wish to edit in photoshop and export it to photoshop.. then save and rename.

Cropped and sharpened. Cloned some lights out of the background.

Took this at a wedding i did recently. First time using a flash gun, so im very pleased with it.

you should be able to get a plug in for it. I have CS3 and mine opens them anyway, failing that a converter may help.

28-135 imo. Jack of all trades that. Seen some brilliant portraits done with it aswell as group shots at a wedding recently.

Depending on the lighting, the 300mm should be fine, if the lightings poor you may need to use the 50mm (im assuming its f1.8!) and do the best you can with it. I take photos for a local womens netball league and some of their indoor matches are shocking for lighting!! Even at f1.8 ISO 1600 i...

Sorry should have said... 1D mkii same as mine lol. I only have two lenses that work with it.. 300mm f4 L and the nifty fifty lol worth it for now though! Cracking cameras.

you want something to cover the range between the 20mm and 70mm. Have a look for the canon 18-55mm IS its a nice little lens nd not too expensive.

Would a 1D be of any use? I may know of one being sold within the next month or so should be failry cheap too

Small number? We had every single one recalled, and we had over 25 in stock, if every store in the country did that it would have been in the 10's of thousands!

Hasnt this camera been recalled... twice. We had a recall on them at work with a "minor fault" .. the camera wouldnt turn on. Then the second time was becaue they didnt complete the repairs properly the first time round?
