Help needed on Next Stages of my track day 172 Cup

It did work a bit on my brother's Megane wheels, they were powdercoated though so it was a bit tougher. Paint should strip right off in no time.

Only enough to take some paint off, don't want to be taking chunks out of the taper. Lightly does it.

Martin's Track Clio 182 Project Thread

I take it the Valeo ones failing are just defective ones and not down to incorrect fitment? I've not heard of many failing tbh. 2 failing must be pretty unlucky.

Dremel with a sanding/grinding bit or an old wheel bolt with a few cuts ground into the taper and whizz is round with an impact gun.

BC's with 8kg/8kg setup would probably be your best bet for less than £1000 yes. There's plenty of choices for seats in that price range, just have to see what fits best for you. I have the OMP Targa steering wheel, definitely recommend it! Swap to 15" wheels, better handling and tyres are...

98 Ron Remap running 97 octane fuel??

Mine is on the 98Ron map and i have ran it on 95 before and it's been fine. I wouldn't do it all the time. Filling up a few cans on the way to the track is hardly effort is it.

Tyres rolling over, stiffer suspension needed?

I agree, but he's not using T1r or PS3's it's R888. Starting with 22 psi would also be bad you're right. I'd suggest 27 cold to end up with about 33 hot.

Tyres rolling over, stiffer suspension needed?

Anyway, it's tyre temperature that's the key thing. Pressure is used as a "tool" to get to the temperature. 90-100c degrees is what you want across the whole tyre on an R888. But that's going a bit OTT for trackdays.

Tyres rolling over, stiffer suspension needed?

34 psi cold, you on drugs! They'll be at 40+ psi before you know it.

    Possibly need a new engine?

    Sounds very metal on metal.

Tyres rolling over, stiffer suspension needed?

Toyo say anywhere from 28-34 psi hot for a car around 1000kg.

Tyres rolling over, stiffer suspension needed?

Going with lower springs will automatically give you a bit more camber, so that would be the first thing to try. Then get the alignment done again once lowered. Max out the camber bolts really.

Tyres rolling over, stiffer suspension needed?

You need more negative camber basically. As the suspension is rolling to one side it'll be getting more positive camber leading to sidewall wear. A set of springs and some camber bolts would be the best place to start.
