Went over to North Wales last month and after a year of having a 50D (had to sell my old 7D to put my girlfriend through uni) - I bought a 7D again!
Wooooo
So happy.
Went out to find some things to photograph and found an amazing old boat and lighthouse near Talacre.
Let me know what you...
Double deal.
I've had the one in my car out over a dozen times.
Pull both dash strips off - 4 screws, pull top of steering column up and off - 2 more screws, 3 screws along top in vents, 2 either side, pull door rubbers off
Pull hole dash towards you and up, over steering wheel and out...
To be honest mate
Loosen wheel bolts, jack car up both sides, remove wheels, loosen TRE nuts, nip under car with a viscal spanner and crack the inner tie rod nuts loose, remove TRE nuts, remove whole track rod assembly. Fit new, tighten up, drive to garage and pay £60-80 for hunter setup -...
I find it VERY hard to believe that the ecu is coded to the columns - VERY hard.
It has it's own power supply and relay, the only links to the column are for the angle sensors and torque sensors. With the ebay control box you're faking half the inputs anyway. And the output is just a big power...
I would have thought so - the subframe is held on with some seriously bulky bolts - those triangular supports just seem to tie the chassis into the subframe and shouldn't be under too much load.
I'm not sure I'd want to be cutting holes in the subframe to get to the nut TBH
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Thanks Dan/guys
I'm guessing if I go get the pas pipes out the box in the garage the bolt will probably still be in the bracket haha.
Doh!
I didn't though - I said I'm an "all or nothing" kind of person
I never once said or inferred it was an all out track car - what I meant was it's all out stripped ;)
I just went nuts with it - cutting all the seat bracketry out, all the sound deadening, every bit of spare metal cut out and...
It was more the sweeping comment that I've done virtually nothing to make the car quicker on track. A comment that I can argue with about 40 videos across 2 years and dramatically improved lap times (and no my driving hasn't improved lol) ;)
I already know how good diffs are - driven 106's with...
That was my first thought - but I definitely didn't I just removed the bolt that goes in to the rubber mount from the bottom.
I've never actually looked at the front of the gearbox before lol
I wonder if it's just vibrated loose because of the solid mounts I run everywhere else
Noticed today there seems to be a bolt missing from the front of my gearbox
Threads seem ok and looking at the clean area I'm guessing there is supposed to be a bolt there lol
Must have rattled loose
Anyone know what size/thread it is? or where I can get one?
Ta
I just bought an absolute minter from London Camera Exchange (the year without my 7D was awful)
I paid £750 with a memory card and a few bits.
I spotted yesterday they're doing them for £799 from canon refurb with a years warranty or I think it was £899 with the 15-85 usm.
I suspect you could...
Problem with that is no backup. The stora has 2 hard drives running in raid, so if one goes down you don't lose everything.
Pretty essential for me as my whole Aperture photography library and every dvd I've ever bought is all on the NAS drive

That's what I run - with the iTunes library on my mac mini
They're epic - you can even hack them to run full linux. Stopped making them now though so difficult to get hold...
That's exactly the point I'm at Tony
Either
a) Make it more comfy again and use it as a road car
b) Sell it
or
c) Get something else to entertain me daily and go full track-car with the Clio
C seems the best choice - especially now I know I can have a DC2 integra for £3k :D :D
You've got 2 options
Buy a nas drive that has a built in iTunes server (most do as they are effectively little linux machines) - but then it's a bit of an arse to organise the itunes library
Buy a nas - then tell iTunes that the library is on the nas drive and leave your pc running to dish...
Ditto. I'm gonna get something Jap as I have a really bad vtec bug at the moment - but next year i'll be getting a 330D touring. Comfort, luxury and bags of room!
