As SOME have said accurately - some track companies insist on a cage due to the much higher risk of rolling the car, some don't.
Would I run slicks without a cage? No
Also the suspension really should be set very differently for slicks - much stiffer springs and different geo.
If you can stretch to £250 -> http://www.digitalrev.com/product/canon-ef-70-300mm-f/OTE0
Or you can pick them up second hand for £200 if you sit on ebay a bit
They are a mind-bogglingly good lens - virtually L glass quality, with dual mode image stabiliser which is fantastic if you ever do...
ABS removal was more for the weight loss than a cost saving exercise.
1020kg vs 1100kg.
80kg less makes them a better starting point for a track car ;)
What most people do is drill the thermostat, tap it and put the omex water temp sensor in there. Then leave the standard water temp sensor connected to the old ecu and powering the gauges.
If you've completely ditched the old ecu then I'd consider replacing the dials in the dashboard with a...
Yup - I'd put a serial cable to a patch port on the firewall if it was me - then you can just connect to that with your adaptor
Serial ports are easy to find - they're used on servers
I must have read it wrong - I assumed he was going to be fitting it to the bulkhead.. If running all the way to the glovebox surely just use a usb extension cable and leave the female end in the glovebox? lol
There's quite a few usb panels you could use from IT companies - not sure they're very weatherproof though

Longer bolt method works a treat
Find some bolts about an inch longer - use them to pull the bracket up to place, then I put a g-clamp on it to stop it moving, removed the long bolt and fitted the normal one.
Wasn't too hard even on my back on the driveway
I'm probably going to cause some xbox vs playstation style war here - but don't get a Sony Bravia
I have a 32" Samsung in one living room and a 46" 3D Sony Bravia in the other living room
The Samsung I bought 6 years ago - it's been EPIC. Never gone wrong and been used way more than a TV...
I wouldn't do cadwell - it's a tight circuit and pushing hard around there always ends in the same way... :(
Also Oulton Park & Donington are both closer ;)
My mate has an Integra DC2 Type R which he put up on axel stands one winter 4 years ago and then just left it there
He's trying to clean it up now to sell it or break it (whichever is best) so has had it towed to my house
It's covered in green mould/mildew - though it does seem to wipe off...
That guy in the 205 REALLY needs to sort his brake lights out - Tony was right. I would have wiped him out. Tinted/taped rear brake lights at a race event is a bit retarded!
It was absolutely brilliant to watch and even better to photograph, I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Will post my pics up...
450D is a better camera than the 1100D but the 1100D also has video as it's much newer
So if you want to get into dslr stuff seriously then I'd go for the 450D but if you want to just try dslr photography and still have a bit of video for holidays etc.. I'd go 1100D
Not sure how much they are new - you can get them from renparts

I'd assume they're testable...
Give it a full service - but also sounds like it could be the VVT actuator. If that's sticking then you'll be driving round everywhere with the inlet cam retarded.
^^ Ditto.
Turned into a bend at cadwell and there was for maybe 1 second no assistance - scared the s**t out of me. But I took the 12v ignition wire and actually soldered it into one of the big wires off the back of the ignition barrel and seems fine now. Just check the power wires and make...
