I understand what you mean with dabbing. On the renault touch up's, on the end of the brush is a domed 'dabber'. It says to dab the paint after x amount of time..what a crap idea! As mentioned use a tooth pick or tiny brush. Lay a low basecoat in the scratch, then 24 hours do the same with the...
It's not a great idea to attempt this with no experiance. However..You won't learn without practice and I would rather you have the better tools for the job. And your probably going to do it anyway! ;)
Also I would recommend a paint thickness gauge
Buy a soft backed 5" pad for the below pads...
the misses would go ape s**t!
Jaff I can send you a pot of 'traditional' wheel wax sealant to try. Would be interested to see how it copes. Something's not right here for sure. I have heard of ceramic sealants not bonding to certain paint finishes but I haven't come across this yet. That's why...
If we wasn't moving house I would have one of these deffo, especially with my dads ford ticket! may even consider a wagon! ;) maybe in a couple of years. What sort of mpg you averaging? Reason I ask is we've got a mk2 1.8 and its shite on fuel. I can live with it being a complete bore-mobile but...
Cool. When you coat them, make sure they are spotless, then if you have something like SRP or similar give them a quick once over. The most important bit is they are dry, and then do two wipe downs with IPA (alcohol mixed with di ionised water 40/60 mix) then apply finest.

Thats interesting. I personally use finest on the wheels and not Dlux. I've had one year so far from C5 on the daily and C.Quartz Uk on the 182 and both effortless to clean with only a mild cleaner. And they get washed like every couple of months so they are proper minging. Hell i even get 12+...
Jaff looks sweeet!
One thing, you dont need an aggresive wheel cleaner if they have been C.Quartz. Jet blast, put a mild apc or shampoo mix in your pump sprayer and use the brushes to clean up. Thats all you need!
Cheers
Chris
I don't use a DA, except for sanding and pain in the ass sticky paint so I'm not the best to ask. Gally will know. I'm sure elsewhere you mentioned about getting a rotary, is this something your still deciding?
Too big and area, too much polish, not long enough sets and wrong speeds are all things that will do this. You will only learn with practice. Even then all paints are different and you have to adapt to them. As Gally says you need to decomtaminate. if the pad picks up some tar or whatever this...
Jaff theirs so much to discuss here, too much tbh.
Im not too familiar with megs polish so I won't comment, however you are probably not working the polish long enough and or have an incorrect technique. #80 is a ligh polish with diminishing abrasives. Do you understand how these work? This...
Very easy, do a panel or half a bonnet say at a time. Remove residue nearly immediately remove with provided suede MF. Done! I feel it's easier to use than most other products as you can see where you have applied and its easy on & off. Only thing to be carefull of is contaminants in the air. I...
Lol!
thing is with alcantara, it's delicate. Sure you can buy a generic interior shampoo and scrub the dirt out and it will work but it may/will f**k the material. Raceglaze is very mild. It's for maintenance not for minging skank seats. It's a toughy to deal with for sure. Multiple hits of...
Good boy daisy.
Do the leather first. Try to keep the alcantara dry whilst you do the leather. Use masking tape if you have too. The leather is idiot proof but you can quickly f**k up the alcantara.
Good raceglaze alcantara, plenty of advice etc. use minimal amounts, the tip is to keep it from...
