gave me an upgrade key in an email, then basically i just continued with the steps after payment to upgrade. it runs for a few minutes, then says it was unsuccessful and try again later.

Gone for the safe option and done it on another laptop. Can someone please help me with my other thread in here?!

Got a laptop with Windows 7 home on it. Need to upgrade to premium so I can run XP on it. Paid for the upgrade on Microsofts site but it keeps being 'unsuccessful'. And then they want to charge me £46 for support!! Anyone got any ideas?!

I'm not a student, bought it through the student link on here and got it no worries, so saved over £300! Doesn't ask if you are a student anywhere!

I had the same dilemma and went for the Air after some recommendations on here. It's properly light and slim, works very quick etc! Mine is the spec you out above too.

OK cool, thats the first problem solved! Is it just a case of buying XP and putting the disc in and following the steps then? Surely it can't be that easy?! And can you still buy XP? Anyone have a disc?!

Should finally get my macbook tomorrow :D Wanting to install XP on it to run some software at work, how do I go about it? Just realised also I haven't got a disk drive on it....doh! As much help as poss needed as I've never even seen a macbook yet!!

I had then ring me earlier on, bunch of idiots! Mine has been delayed because Billing Address is different to Delivery Address, and they wanted to deliver to Billing address. Anyways, estimated delivery date is 19th to 21st but still awaiting despatched email. Hopefully get it before Christmas.

Definately. I've only ordered one because of it, never even considered them before! But after doing some research I should be able to merge my 3 laptops into one so fingers crossed it ends up being a good decision!
