Anyone fitted one of these? Worthwhile? I’m about to have the belts done and wondered if sensible to add a) to protect the belt and b) as I’m spending almost £700 on the car.
Another day of lockdown fun in the garage.
I’d been wanting to tidy up the hubs for ages as they’re rusty and nasty. In reality everything needs stripping out and doing properly - for now a bit of black Hammerite will do.
Callipers got a freshen up as they were looking a bit tired. Wheel...
I can’t see why not. I’ve heard it can bleach interior surfaces if too strong though.
I used a regular pan scourer - sponge with a scouring pad on top. Worked well.
Last soft touch nastiness gone. Surfex HD, scouring sponge and lots of elbow grease and an hour later much better. Photo crap but it’s now nice and smooth.
PS3’s fitted too - contactless by my local garage as I don’t trust anyone else with my wheels. No paying work for them now for a month 😳...
I wash mine in the machine. 30 degrees and air dry.
I clean the pad every other pass. Once an MF pad clogs it stops working pretty much so you’ll do twice the work for zero improvement-ish.
Try some Angelwax Resurrection mate - really good stuff. If you’re using MF pads work in really small sections (twice the diameter of the pad by 4 x diameter) and speed 4-5 on a DA. Brush pad out every other pass unless you’ve got a compressor in which case blow the pad out.
Still looks bloody...
Alternator back from the guys at Burghfield Starters and Alternators. Long name, small company. Photos speak for themselves. Really really pleased with the result. They even reattached the old Renault sticker 🤣👌
Thanks fella. The more I’ve done during lockdown, the more needs sorting. Engine bay needs a lot of work, lots of bits needed underneath too. Never ending!
Parts pile growing. New rad from PMS, new injectors and Cup alternator and bracket. Alternator sent away for refurb and despite being told it was working fine, it isn’t. No biggie as the cost is sensible and the company doing the work come highly recommended.
It was booked in for dephaser as we...
Just bought a pet dryer from eBay. Gave up after spending 10 minutes chasing water all over the other half’s car and switched back to my Klin towel. Dry in 5 minutes.
Great for wheels and water traps but fairly pointless unless you add a ceramic booster every week as cQuartz isn’t massively...
Another garage lockdown day yesterday. Last coat of Quadra on the Clio. Started prepping the spare rocker cover I had for paint, asked how to remove the cam that the specialist I bought it from and found out that not using the original is a bad idea. Would have been nice if the specialist I...
Dailies cleaned today. Cleaned the Wife’s Clio inside too with I2 as she’s a key worker at a private hospital (although now seconded back into the NHS) and figured better safe etc....
It’s excellent. Similar to Gyeon Primer/Carpro Essence. I first used it a couple of years ago as a tidy up on a previously coated car and liked it then. In this instance I’d run low on anything harsher so switched to a polishing pad with surprisingly good results.
Gave my niece’s first car a going over last weekend. Washed and decontaminated then quick machine polish with Angelwax Enigma AIO. Waxed with Bilt Hamber, tyres and all external plastics with Gtechniq T1.
Klin Korea drying towel. I rarely use anything else. The big one will dry my Octavia in about 2 minutes and still doesn’t need wringing out. Witchcraft 🤣
Second day of garage isolation. Machine applied Zymol HD Cleanse then 2 coats of Quadra. New one and apparently $500...leaves a glossy and very slick finish.
Front arches tidied up. Cleaned and dressed the plastic and cable tied the main bumper attachment points as they’re split. Treated and...
