There you go. I’m nowhere near talented enough to paint sir! This was done by these guys.
c and b auto body basingstoke...
Back bumper refitted. New bolts for fuel filler and waxoyl behind to protect. Rubber bumpons added. New genuine number plate light fitted. Polishing started. Lots to do.
I kept looking underneath and realising how much work it needs too. Perhaps a winter project.
Almost there! Still needs to be flatted and polished and there’s still the petrol cap and side trims to paint but I’m happy. Very happy. Almost happy enough to counteract the utter s**t show that was Legoland today 🤬😘

There you go sir.
Very short review. This machine rocks. Having used an ibrid extensively, lack of grunt is usually the downside of a small machine. The ibrid is good in rotary mode and useless in DA setup. The...
Finished polishing both bumpers using Koch Chemie H9 to compound and Car Pro Essence to refine, add a bit of a gloss and lay down a primer coat for the ceramic top coats.
Built both back up and I’ve also bitten the bullet and ordered the genuine black inserts for the front from Renault as the...
Polishing underway. I’m a simple chap so the goal is equally simply - to take a car which was tidy and take the paint to the next level. Tricky with silver as it doesn’t usually get really, really deep and glossy but I’ll get there. A few sanding marks to chase out but nothing I wasn’t expecting...
Here’s my take for what it’s worth.
I’ve been an insurance man for 30 years now, started to feel burnt out a few years back and set up my own detailing business in 2017, albeit piggy backed into a very successful retail shop selling products.
Hard graft, but very rewarding. We were accredited...
Car still with painter. Getting painful now! Bumpers are home so at least I can build them back up. If the rest of the car comes out this nicely I’ll be a very happy chap!
I love this car with only one exception.
Every time you post a photo of the underneath it makes me realise how much further I need to go with mine. Bit like thinking you’ve got to the top of the mountain only to find the summit is another few kms away 🤣
Lovely work sir.
More updates from paint. Likely to be a few more days before she’s ready and looking into PPF for when it’s all done - I believe there are no templates so it’ll have to be a bulk custom job. As this ramps up the cost I need to decide whether it’s cost effective. I’ve only picked up one major...
Looking good as ever mate. Seriously considering PPF for mine - sounds daft but I’m spending a fair amount on the paint so it makes sense in my head lol.
Paint update.
Bumpers primed and being filled and re-primer before paint. Everything else rubbed down and ready for primer.
I’ve decided to have the bonnet done too - de-dented and all chips taken out.
Looks like we caught the fuel filler area too - that’s being rubbed back, etched and...
A mate’s just bought this. CS sticker in window, lots of history/paperwork including recent EFI printout. Needs some TLC but it drives really nicely.
Anyone know the car?
I’ve owned Swissvax Best Of Show and Zymol Concours. Nothing else smelt better or was nicer to use then or since.
I’ve also used Zymol Vintage which retailed at around £6k at the time.
None of them lasted as long as a sealant or ceramic but much nicer to work with. Durability is measured in...
