Aye, bikes were very much not the fastest things there when I was there. The fastest this was a mad white Porsche with black detailing. It was a turbo, suspect it was a GT2 - it was mentally fast, possibly tuned as well, as there was some colourful bits on the engine when he opened the, erm...
Just ignore it. Have a good time!
Then on Monday, if you're fully comp, stick in a glass claim. Costs a small excess, less than £100 (never seen one as high as £100, but I'm sure someone will correct me...) and Autoglass will be out the same day. If you're not fully comp, then get lubed up :p
You'll forget all about the long wait the first time you get to the twisties hehe ;) Like you, I wouldn't be too happy about all that block stuff - I'd be worried something bad had happened that they had to sort before it got to the dealers.
I think you made the right choice with the seats, I...
Re: Problems with your 197????
What is this door handle problem you speak of?
I think I've been lucky with mine, as besides a broken shock (it had that when I got it, 2nd hand 9 months old from a Honda dealer - Renault diagnosed and replaced under warranty very quickly) I haven't had any...
Impressive pics dude! I really must look into teaching myself this HDRing thing... It's my understanding you take 2 or 3 of the same shot, with different levels of exposure, then layer them to brighten certain areas? Is that vaguely right? What program is the preffered and recommended one of...
It's not my car they're on dude :) I didn't know him, but I knew the story etc of his tragic death on the forum. I just thought referring to the stickers, that are a memorial of someones death, as 'tacky s**t' was miles out of order. Then even after he knew what they were, there was no...
The 197s seem to consistantly be making their power, but there have been reports of some low miles ones that haven't. It's not like not making book power would be a new thing for a RenaultSport Clio however.
I'm not sure what the power to weight comment meant, do you dislike all RS Clios? It...
No one asked for your opinion about the stickers, why are you being an arse about them? Totally un-necessary, especially once you found out why they were there.
You might not have the new gearbox, has to be a build date after October '08 - the only R27s with it are, iirc, numbers 480 upwards? What number is yours? I deffo don't heh, 07 number 57 here :) I have never been sat on the motorway and thought "gosh it's noisy in here" - because that particular...
Are you aware how small the differences are in the two gearboxes?
Hardly a big difference. The shorter box is more suited to the car IMHO, one of the reasons I chose an R27 over a new FF or Cup. It feels a little peppier in the top two gears, but not much of course. I'd be surprised if it...
They look so much better than the shite ones I had, that were from someone else that was part of that semi-failed group buy. They were about as bright as a redneck's inbred toddler.
Whilst I'm not a fan of the spoiler, white is the only colour that makes it look 'ok' :)
Good pics though - how you liking it since it got fixed? What was wrong in the end?
Re: remapped Vag diesels 'tearing them a new arse' from further back in the thread - what VAG diesel that costs the same as a 172, at a similiar age and mileage could be remapped to do that? Tearing them a new arse is presumably pulling away at a reasonable rate? I can't really think of any...
Get a big one ;) http://www.phmotorcycles.co.uk/bikes/suzuki-burgman-650-executive.html
On another note, when I was young I had a Peugeot Speedfight scooter, with Malossi big bore kit, Gianelli "Not for road use" exhaust, lightweight belts, variators and rollers. It was like the minature...
Re: Problems with your 197????
Mines a June 07, I've only owned it since May. The only problem I've had was a knackered shock, that it had when I got it. Bought it from Baden Powell Honda in Scunthorpe who failed to notice it during their 100 point check, or whilst they changed the front...
It's a week old this post now, did the Trophy indeed go on Tuesday?
Also, you already have a 172, but you're looking for another 172 as well, but a Ph1? I did the move from a new interior to an old one when I had the Vee - I bet the Ph1 interior will just annoy you every day you see it, as...
To be fair I don't think that's at all true anymore. Well, the engines are reliable heh, but also things don't seem to fall off like they used to. Although, has anyone ever had anything literally fall off, excluding rusted through exhausts and the like as that happens to any car?
Dan
Build quality on the new Mk3s, like the 197, is a huge step forward over the Renaults of old. Also, all 197s are under 3 years old, and so still under manfacturers warranty - so if you do have any niggles, they'll get sorted out for free anyway. And if you're looking at a new one, then you get...
Why did you even feel he needed to know that? I'm not having a go, just strikes me that if you had nothing positive to say at all, there was no reason to post except to jump on the bandwagon and try make someone feel bad.
Frankly if you have an RS (excluding the Meg 175 DCi) and get much over 30 out of a whole tank you've bought the wrong car. Aside from if it's a whole tank used (or mostly) over a long journey on the motorway. Why spend all that money on tax and insurance when you could save loads, and just...
Ahhhh I just got rid of my Baja - was just a 5B though not an SS like yours :) I got it having being out of the hobby for ages (after selling my TS4N road car, 2.5r Revo, RB Revo, Savage 4.6, Savage STS.30...), but it wasn't for me, bit big and cumbersome, plus was a bit disappointed with the...
