So I bagged a pair of brand new top mount kits (543A09780R) from an eBay seller - genuine part so all good.
Delay by Hermes collecting - not ideal but par for the course.
And it arrives this morning looking like it's been dropped off a tall building. Then kicked around a bit. Then dropped again...
Not too expensive at around £40 for 4 from Renault and Sod's Law tells me that at least one will snap when they're removed.
Question is, am I being paranoid or is replacing all 4 sensible anyway as the shock, spring & top mount are all new too?
Also (OK, that's 2 questions!!!) is there a cheaper...
Today was one of those "why the f**k do I bother?" days.
Spent 3 hours achieving nothing apart from screwing a 4" wood screw into my hand so washed the daily and fitted some dress up bolts to the slam panel.
Dressed the lower grill - tit of a job but at least it looks a bit better.
Started to...
Grab the Clas Ohlson sold Cotech DA for under £60 and you can't go wrong. 5 year warranty and it's pretty much identical to a lot of more expensive machines. I only grabbed one as a standby next to my rotary but it's a bloody good little machine :)
Might have been a lady driving. Didn't want to look too closely for fear of looking like a drooling pervert. That and the bloody roadworks they'd thrown in next to B&Q - sharpened up my reactions a bit that did.
Not much of an update but at long last the Clio now has a house!
Spent all of today clearing and storing away half a 205 in parts for selling and she's now snug and dry.
No photos but progressing nicely. Second coat of floor paint done so I can get the car into the garage. Van booked for the weekend to take all the accumulated crap to the tip.
Parts pile coming on nicely too - so far we have new discs & pads, replacement arch liners to clean and fit, waxoyl to...
It's nice mate. Works well, smells properly nice but it's very pricey! Luckily I met the man who makes it by accident the other week and he gave me a bottle!
Other than a wash when I picked her up, I haven't done much since and machine work will happen once the paint's done (OS quarter, bonnet, bumper etc.)
Up at silly o'clock today to get the first coat of floor paint done in the garage - it's been home to a scrapyard for 3 years so can't wait for a...
Splitter fitted today and first coat of paint finished on garage floor. Most of the other jobs can wait until the garage is done so I can work in relative comfort.
I'm loving this little car. Still loads of jobs but pleased with it so far :)
