Thanks dude. Took forever to get the 3m tape off lol. Went a bit overboard.

Nope. It's actually burnt - I'm guessing by a silly back box at some point. Plans are in hand to sort :)

And back to the Industrial Estate where I took the first photos of the car a year or so ago. Happy with my RS plates, next is MOT and some tidying up under the bonnet.

RS plates "fitted" - well old 3m tape removed and Velcro coins fitted to enable swapping. My apprentice helped out and waxed the Clio - first time and he's a natural lol.

Long week and glad it's done. Golf in for coating top-up and Rangie finished. Between Coats I escaped for some fresh air and gave the Clio a quick wash down. Debating painting the cam cover today.

    Swirly Rangie!

    And all done. Monster job!

Oh and that's the piano black (c-post) - and that isn't the worst one....

    Swirly Rangie!

We see a lot of high end cars being washed like this. First time I've heard of damage being paid out though - it's the car wash's insurer paying btw.

    Swirly Rangie!

Patience lol. The cutting stage has created a load of dust; tyres will be dressed once refining done.

    Swirly Rangie!

In for correction and gtechniq. Badly damaged at a hand car wash and their insurers coughed and paid for both paint and detailing!

Gotcha - I've used similar before on some wheels (2-part laquer) but this is a more standard approach :)
  12. andy_coops

    andy_coops - Iceberg 172

It's spray cans so etch primer, base colour and then clear laquer.

    andy_coops - Iceberg 172

Thanks chap. I spent £2 on wet & dry and a big plastic dust sheet in Poundland, £8 on etch primer, had the paint, masking tape and masking paper already so a really cheap fix :D

And 3 coats of silver. Looks ok from a distance lol. Leaving to harden then laquer, flat and polish.

Repairs to rear arch underway. Rubbed down, rust treatment applied, rubbed down again and etch primer on. Will blend edge and paint tomorrow.

Undersealed the rear arches today and made a start on some bubbles on the nearside arch lip. Had some help too so at least it's done properly :D

Been in this week for gtechniq and PPF. Oh and I was lucky enough to drive it back to the studio from the client's house :)

Copy away buddy! Plates will be spot on once she's properly polished and I do some photography somewhere nice.

Battery cover fitted today. Front bolt won't shift so left it for now. Need to fit replacement ECU cover now as it looks properly crap. I also removed and painted the 2 screws at the top of the back bumper and cleaned up the area around - small silly job but why not lol. Quick wash and sorted...

330mm mate. Plenty small enough for me. At 6' 3", 18 stone and hands to match a smaller wheel wouldn't have worked!

    andy_coops - Iceberg 172

Wheel fitted today with thanks to @lyrix for his help. I'm getting a custom horn badge made as the standard one doesn't do it for me but otherwise chuffed with the result :)

330mm mate. Feels spot on and can't wait to get it in :)

    MAP sensor O-rings

Still held in place with plumber's tape lol. Seems ok though!

Wheel and boss arrived today. Just need some resistors and good to go.

Latest mod is a MAD footrest. Hardly ground breaking but for a tenner it's better than a piece of plastic. OMP wheel and Momo boss on their way so slightly more exciting update to follow :)

    Alloygators. Opinions.

And a set on a Merc we've just done in silver. Like I say horses for courses :)

    Alloygators. Opinions.

Horses for courses. We fitted this set yesterday to a local dealer demonstrator. On the right wheel in the right colour they're pretty much invisible and cost a fraction of the cost of a refurb.

    182_steve's FF 182 progress thread!

Looks pretty perfect from here mate! And show plates ordered too - copycatting continues...!

    Davys 172 Flamer!
