They aren't electric so it can't be that.

You can hear it with the ignition on, it isn't the fuel pump. Sounds to be low in the engine bay. It doesn't go away when the engine is started. You can also hear it inside the cabin. It must be electrical.

Will feel painfully slow without 160bhp+ when driving normally. From 50mph my mates 106 GTi was faster. If i were to build another one I'd have a nice 2.0 on bodies with about 220bhp.
