Yeah I'v had a couple of backfires through the inlet too when cold and starting up, never mind its away to get mapped at 5. Going to move the coil pack away from the exhaust mani as I'm sure its getting too warm with no heatshield there and double check all the plugs, ht leads etc. I did a...
Haha so I haven't met you yet then ;-)
I'v got you know, then there's one more DJW lad, right?
Lol aye remember you with your loon and then Gaz 85's who I met at the weekend.
Not for me, I have to drive this thing daily, don't want to look like Ali G haha.
I actually never done the filter until after the RS2 was fitted (school boy) but a few extensions used as a punch on the filter through the Jenvey part of the manifold works a treat with the RS grille off for access. I never had my eccentric oil filter tool at the time.
Cheers it was a bit rough to begin with and its no show winner tbh. It was a bit too far for me too but worked out perfectly with my trailer, less than 4 miles apart. I bought a grill from you right? I lose track between DJW lads and the 3 or maybe 4 GAZ's lol.
Hhmmm, will double check everything tomorrow morning but it just seems like it needs mapping, feels like its running lean at the low and high revs, you get flat spots and just generally not a linear power delivery. 5k kick has gone now yo.
^^^bop??
Have you run yours for a while without mapping? Mine is hard to start and dies with throttle inputs until warm, also the power spread is all over the place through the rev range.
Got a sun strip fitted today and wet vac'd the carpets and mats after the weekends escapades. Anyone who's running an RS2 manifold did you get the odd misfire mostly when cold and below 4k?
Cheers, yeah it does (trip hazard) as its meant to be fitted with the Oreca decat which is shorter than the original cat that is on, I refuse to cut anything as its only on this thing untill my racecar is ready.
The rear brakes do something, just not a lot. The back of the car is so light and the fronts so heavy. The braking is proportional to the amount of weight on an axle. Pretty much every FWD car you want to wind the bias towards the front when out on track, its brilliant that Renault done it out...
Tbh I never used the guide its pretty much self explanatory but their PDF's I have read we're good.
None of there stuff is aimed at road cars FYI, they are more interested in Motorsport and engine covers are just dead weight.
Fit the engine cover, place the cross brace on and mark with...
Its a brilliant idea for a fast road/track car, it means you don't have to touch them and hence why there is a bulletin out for MOT stations. Its that or you will be going backwards ever time you brake.
Honestly? You think the brace and top mounts are poor quality, Its one of the best looking purposeful strut braces I have seen sold. Fitting guide is pretty good on their site too lol.
Got the inlet on today, Still need to get some spacers and a few bolts to mount the coil pack properly but its on, Had to trim the slam panel and might swap to a ph1 catch for space too. Just need it mapped on Friday now.

Cooksports and Eibach's are both really good springs, you will hardly notice any difference on normal driving but they stiffen up a little when going for a blast due to being progressively wound.
