I just used some car shampoo mate.
I copper clipped them when fitted, and also given them a few squirts with WD40 so it all came off fairly easily with some warm water.
Previous owner bought a cat c and had cup suspension on the front, he couldnt get hold of any sachs so bought these, then found some.
£400?
I was thinking a lot more, just under £1k delivered from Ktec with camber bolts....
I'm thinking about upgrading to AST's, I want lower and stiffer!
If I decide to go through with it the H&R's will be up for sale.
They are under a year old, I bought then off an old boy who had them for about 4k miles on a trophy. And I've done about 4k on them myself.
They are for Cup...
Basically I got a knife and cut the 4 rubber arms which hold the central mount, then undid the 3 bolts and removed the mount completely.
Hardest bit was then using the knife, getting the rest of the rubber off which is a really tight fit onto the metal bar coming off the exhaust.
Once that...
lol, was fairly warm earlier on though so didnt phase me!
Was a right ballache to remove the locking rings though, ended up taking it to my local garage as I didnt have a good enough vice to get them off!
Gonna keep them a lot cleaner on the car now though, too much effort to do this every...
Cool, makes me feel better about it, thanks for the replies.
It's a Ktec decat.
fossie, yeah is a bit, not loads though.
although not sure if it would seal better once warm as the car and exhaust was cold when i checked it for blowing.
Cheers Gaz.
I'll get it checked when i get it serviced and my new exhaust fitted.
When I was under the car revving, there was enough of a gap for some condensation to come out of the gap which isnt good news im guessing, bubbled out quite a bit.
Was under the car today, noticed a slight gap between the decat and manifold:
it's blowing slightly from both ends of the decat too, is it just seated slightly incorrectly and will be rectified by refitting?
Was only fitted a few months ago proffesionally with a new mani>cat fitting kit.
Decided at work today that I would get around to cleaning all the fonrt suspension down after it no doubt being covered in road salt and crap.
Exhaust has been rattling a bit too so decided to check that out, and then make some homemade new mounts due to perished old ones.
Started off with the...
Gonna strip my front coils off today and clean them all up, but what can I use to protect them?
Previously used copper slip but it makes everything stick to them, so I'm after something I can buy off the shelf today to do a better job..
I was thinking push bike spray on wax lube? Supposed...
Wasn't on track, was braking for around 90 to about 50 and nor even full force as I wasn't 100% pushing it.
Granted i'm no race driver but I know when to brake and the speeds I can take the corners,
You had a similar set up, so not this set up, and they vary massively so not a great comparison
Not being funny but it clearly isn't. Brakes were bled a few months ago when I had the lines fitted, and this is the first time I've driven it hard since.
I brake when I need to, not for the sake of it.
I've found the redstuff pads really good when hot to be honest, read a lot of bad reviews, and i only got them over DS2500's because they wer ebrand new for £30, but just tonight they wern't upto the job.
They were bedded in as per a lot of guides on the net and until now performed well...
Just went out for a 20 mile backroad blast, and my brakes went. Not very good considering I've upgraded them!
Got Brembo Max discs (grooved)
Redstuff pads
Dot 5.1 AP racing fluid
Braided lines
Not very impressed to be honest! Don't think they will stand up very well to track work :(
Search my username, i bought them to the forum ;)
About £35, very flexible so perfect for low cars.

A few front shots in them
Yeah the car is driving etc, then it seems as soon as i pull over it works fine again :S
Thanks warren, I'll search his name in this forum and see if it finds anything!
Edit - found it, I'll hopefully get it plugged in to a machine somewhere to find the problem.
I've done a search but I'm not searching the right thing, although im sure ive seen threads about it before....
Got in the car tonight, pulled off and it wouldnt go above 2.5krpm, pulled over for a second, rev'd the car out of gear and it was fine again?
Then left the gym and it did the same...
Cheers Fred.
Still not too sure, it felt perfect for me at neg 2.5 as opposed to the neg 1.5 that I managed to guess it at.
I think an advantage to me is that of the 2 set ups I have had (not many I know!) compared to the standard car and then sportlines, the coilovers are 10 times...
