Straight line, my money would be on the AX up to about 100-120... They weigh 1/10th of f**k all anyway - if it's been stripped and given 120+bhp... And it'll have mentally short gear ratios.

LOL at the 'fast Escort GTi' posts heh. Lord, <has a flashback> that was hands down the worst 'sporty model' car I have ever driven - by a mile. If not infact, the worst car. It had 100% of NOTHING going for it.

Personally I wouldn't have a cup, the interior is foul. I'd want a 197 with the Cup suspension pack. Can you get the 197 in white or is that Cup only?
Dan
They're quite nice in a reliable and safe kind of way. Handling is competent, as is the engine, but they're pretty dull to be honest. Think of it as a pretty Corolla - probably a good car but you'll have forgotton it before you've even got 10 feet away.

Pick up the new Evo mag. The 350Z is in their Evo Car of the Year test - and they were all pleasently surprised by how good it was even in such illustrious company as a GT3 Porker and a new F430 Scuderia.
I wouldn't bother with the turbo'd Clio - it'll just be unreliable and a wheelspinning...
Definately claim for that whiplash. Then there's the mental anguish as well... And let's not forget the LCD TV that was in the boot that broke when he hit you...

Get the oil changed, and the fuel and oil filters. The knackered engine mounts would give a knock like you suggest for sure. Keep an eye on the oil level too, if he's just topped it up it might be that it uses a bit... Also, if I were you I'd get rid of the 17s onto eBay asap, and get some...
Those seats in the Xtreme one are a bit of an oddity aren't they? I have the 'proper' Mk1 ones, with the coloured RS Stripes - way better than the Mk2 with it's boring grey stripes ;) Just a shame about the dark blue leather really heh...

Lots of people. About a grand if you buy new. Someone is selling some nice Momo's for under £400 inc frames on V6Clio.net - see there for photos as well :)
Dan
I see them been more like the Saxo VTS - Good cars, got too cheap and then owned by chavs ruining the reputation and clouding over the brilliant package under neath. The problem with the 205 GTi 1.9 is that they weren't actually *that* common in the first place heh. And they were a lot easier...
Well, yea if you're willing to throw that much at depreciation heh :)
I'm sure you've looked all the bases, but £20k will buy some really nice nearly new cars... That you'd own after 3 years... Mind you, each to their own, if you're happy with the deal go for it :D
What car is it as a...
The Civic is faster round the track - it's right there in that video, and Tiff is a better driver than anyone posting in this thread. Just like, get over it heh. He always does one show boating lap then a quick lap - it just depends whichs bits they decide to show you. Some episodes you see...
Except after 3 years, you have nothing to show for it. Been there, done that hehe :)
After 3 years at that rate and with that deposit, you'll have spent £18,320, then have to give the car back...
Dan
If they released a new 197 (presumably called a 225 though heh) with the Meggy engine and an LSD I'd be down the dealer and selling the Vee the same day the news was released.
Dan
Can you get a full fat 197 with the Cup suspension? Avoid that awful interior and general pikeyness of the Cup - and still have the better chassis set up. Sounds like the way forward to me.
Dan
Don't keep the revs under 3k all the time when it's new - you'll end up labouring it. Just drive it normally - try avoid the really high revs for the first hundred miles or so, then cut loose. It's better for the engine these days with modern oils etc. Loosens it up better. Consider an oil...
Can you get the standard 197 with the Cup suspension?
The only advantage for me personally of the Cup would be that I really dislike the cardkey thing - I'd rather just have a key.
