Don't get me wrong, they're not like driving a Mondeo or something, they're probably just comparable to anything else of the size. It didn't body roll a lot really just felt 'heavy' - I think it was just because I'd owned a 206 for 3 years really heh. I prefered it to driving the S3 to be...
I use mine everyday - I don't have kids or anything, and it's fine for me. Haven't been in snow yet really, but gritters are a bit few and far between around here, and it's been -5c or colder some nights in the past week or so - so it's been proper white over frozen - you do have to take it...
<takes a bow>
T'was indeed me :) I went to the post office, then the bank if anyone was wondering hehe.
Suggs - my mate said he saw an Illiad the other week in Scarborough heh - I guessed it was you.

Destroy is strong, the Leon would be quicker though once you got to the higher speeds, no doubt in my mind on that one. The remappped LCR (circa 270bhp) I drove would've been able to use the word destroy though in 3rd gear and above I think heh.

Yea like Ali said - that Vee is used properly ;) He seems to have some skills as well. The colour isn't a standard colour I don't beleive - I wouldn't mind seeing some pics of it painted just anthracite mind.

When I was car shopping I spent a lot of time on SeatCupra.net - almost bought an LCR - just wasn't quite what I was looking for I decided in the end. Planning on going back though when I need something a little more practical - and it's SO going to BAS in York for a remap. One LCR I test...
I haven't driven an R27 - just a FF 197 - had about 6k on it, engine felt like it was a little 'stiff' still - I'd like to try one with sorta 10k under it's belt. The things that impressed me most were the seemingly limitless grip (it was dry - no experience of them in the wet) and the brakes...
Dude, mess :)
Still, only a car at the end of the day, main thing is everyone is alright, just cuts and bruises and at least you're alive and can laugh about it now (I'm not saying it was funny, just that you definately have the right attitude hehe).
As for the farmer, sue the tw*t, mud on...
Hehe the Vee is just getting nicely into it's stride at 125 ;) Allegedly. If we're honest, there isn't much need for good acceleration above 120mph anyway really these days heh.
Dan
I've heard the Backbox alone for the Vee is over a grand from Renault, and someone on the V6clio.net forum reported replacement cat was £2400 or something mad hehe :D
Dan
Probably a theoretical 'geared for' top speed - I'd have thought the only difference it makes in the real world is that it takes longer to get to the top speed heh :)
Dan
I don't think the Clio would be quickest - it only has 10bhp on the Saxo, and longer gear ratios, and probably 20% more weight. There wouldn't be much in it, but I reckon in a straight drag up to high speed the Saxo would edge it, till like over a tonne then I'd imagine the top end revs of the...
But the new Cup Racers (the proper racing spec ones) based on the 197 are quite a bit quicker round the track than the old (1*2 based) ones. The rare factor would be cool as well - having the real thing rather than another modded Clio. Mind you, £24k...

The Zetec S will be the slowest. The later VTR (100bhp one) will probably be the quickest and definately the most fun to drive, but as you say, bit of a tin box. The Clio will be comfiest.
The Zetec S looks nice and doesn't really have anything else going for it for me - I'm not a fan...
The Vee'll do that :p But to be honest - if you care about MPG, hot hatches aren't the right cars to be looking at heh.
Re: the thread - I'd be looking to get a bit off that really, assuming it has no options on it at all (except the metallic paint) - unless they offer you a really good price...
I've been thinking about a Leon Cupra R 225 as well Mark, the only thing that puts me off at the moment is they're a big 'bargey' to drive. They feel really heavy. I want to try one that's had some suspension fettling...
Dan
I know a guy that's driven a new Cup Racer on the track - he reckoned it gripped and cornered harder than anything he's ever driven, and he owns a bike engined 7 clone kit car and his daily driver up until a few weeks ago, was an Exige...
