    Give this video a watch, i have a drain on my battery too and i'm going to give this a go. Mine doesn't go dead overnight like yours though, takes about 5 days on mine.

    Hmmm... that's weird then. So is it the zooming in and out that doesn't work? I'd get it done by a Canon authorised dealer or Canon themselves, as you'll get a years warranty with the repair. If it's quite expensive to repair the 70-200, I have one you can buy ;)

    How to remove Diesal from carpet?

    Can you remove the carpet? If so, baking soda rubbed into the stain and left for five minutes then scrub with a degreaser and rinse off with warm/hot water. Should get some out.
