LMFAO mine are white because that's the colour they made reinforced motorsport wheels in for the Clio Cup Racers'
What I was referring too was the fact that carbon fibre was invented as a light weight replacement for parts in motorsport - as you know because you make them apparently. But you've...
Re: A few new additions to Trophy 147/500 - RS2 Fitted
Hahaha! now thats a plan
If you're free on bank holiday monday in April I'm going up to york for a RWYB day ;)
Re: A few new additions to Trophy 147/500 - RS2 Fitted
Mines already badly painted with hammerite in white (ASW style ;)) - wanna get it powdercoated in white as well
Depends on price though - I've just been raped for a years car insurance so if it's a lot it might have to wait, just a random...
That's all the gay MX5 and Caterham owners that can't keep there arse-end under control LOL
Although saying that one of the first days I did at Brands (in fact the first track day i'd ever done) was a novice day so they put braking, turn in, apex and exit cones out
I hit one of the apex cones...
I'm sorry WTF? Get to the apex as quick as possible?
So if you turn in early and hug the inside all the way round you'd be flying then? LMFAO
And if slow-in fast-out isn't the quickest, what is? fast-in slow-out? hahahha
That's my only issue with it to be honest - I have to run the box under the car - or drill a big hole in the exhaust tunnel and put the box under the passenger seat
Clio 172 Cup
Jenvey ITBs, Omex 600, Full roll cage, Stripped, Bucket seats, Harnesses, 2118's, Group N exhaust system, coilovers etc.. etc.. etc..
200+ bhp, everything fully declared and like-for-like cover on all mods
£577 a year with protected NCB
Being in your 30's has some advantages ;)
Re: A few new additions to Trophy 147/500 - RS2 Fitted
I'm definitely gonna be selling my bilsteins this year and getting AST's
I hate the bilsteins - they were brilliant on the standard car, but when you lose 100kg in weight not being able to adjust the damping is lame :(
Car looks fantastic...
Just watched that last video you posted - following the 172 cup with the rensport number plate
Watch at 2:55 - that's a classic example of where you are causing the understeer
The clio you're following goes past the yellow cone on the left before turning in - you yank the steering wheel left...
Re: 172 oil leak from rocket cover plenum area noticeable worse during hard track dri
There was no gasket on mine from the factory - or on the 182 I was working on
Both just had some instant gasket applied to them
It's definitely a renaultUK press car - I know a few people who have been given it for the weekend. It was at FCS last year cos I remember overtaking it a few times on the open pit sessions ;)
It's also been at brands hatch and a few other media events for renaultsport I've been too
I heard the...
That's 12" - and you've just made me feel VERY old :( lol
I've been playing around with a semi-fisheye on my X100 today and snapped a quick shot I really like
Thwarrp by Phil_Barker, on Flickr
Don't really agree with that to be honest. It's slightly slimmer and shorter but it's longer by about 3".
Overall surface area there isn't much difference
I've driven mine in traffic at tick over pace for 15 minutes. Left it running in the garage while mapping until the fan kicked in several...
Not on a daily basis but I have done some long runs in it - did a 6hr trip to Birmingham and back to get the exhaust fitted, and done a lot of VERY spirited back road drives lol
Temperature is spot on - sits directly in the middle of the gauge
I suspect if you sat in traffic in summer it would...
Mines needs belts and pulleys in next 10k lol
I think I'm gonna just abuse it this year though - the amount of money I've spent on it in the last 6 months makes my eyes water lol.. need to get out and use it on track.
Plus my engine has done 120k - I might look at building one up next winter...
Whoa cams!!
I'm still undecided on them to be honest as it's a lot of money for another 10bhp - it would pay for a nurburgring trip :D
By the way if I haven't said - I love your car an insane amount. I wish mine was white :(
Sorry mate couldn't remember the exact figure
Haven't had time to look at your blog for a while - but i'll have a look now!!
I'm still unsure as to whether to bother with cams before it gets mapped - tempted to just chuck it on track and abuse it for the year and do cams next year along with...
I haven't had it mapped yet so not sure
LewisTaylor on here just had an identical setup mapped at TDF though and got 204bhp so I'm hoping somewhere around the same
Brilliant photos there
I'm dying to get out and have a play with my X100
It has a 3 stop ND filter built in - and I've bought a 6 stop ND filter that I can screw on - so should get 9 stops
Should be ok for a very small portable long exposure rig
