Oh I have no doubt it will be a top piece of kit I'm not saying that, money well spent to further strengthen your g/box. Would like to see if you have any small niggles/things you do/don't get on with about it. Cant see the casings being much of a problem with a realistic 20% torque increase...
I'll see how yours lasts ;), I know people that have had troubles with dog boxes, can get expensive. Mostly on bigger power though.
Yeah Dave was out yesterday at KH, he is thinking of stripping his racer, box is the older stsda and hasn't been overhauled in a while, car seemed to go well!
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Aye did feel sorry for him, I thought about putting in a bid myself for some bits, maybe a bit soon for him lol but obviously not. Rare colour as well.
Your cars going well in the the video. Does it offer to spin out of mcintyres and hairpin?
Very nice Kenny, jealous. No missing gears know lol or you'll have a jc5 puzzle to play with ;). Did gripper do you a custom kit, they didn't/don't offer anything off the shelf afaik.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Missed the Ferrari out on track :( the Formula Ford champion was driving as well. I was told the gt86 was trying to drift everywhere, never going to end well going through the chicane, I was out on track while he was trying to get out the tyres, he did a bolt pretty...
HOW MUCH lol, that's ace. F4r's are like drawing blood from a stone but 230bhp N/A is fairly easy to get for 6k which is like a 60-70bhp increase, should be more being 2.0L. From the power you have quoted Daniel, that would be a 80-90bhp increase , can't see Sandy's engines costing less than 6k...
Im personaly building a clio to be a half decent spec so I have a chance of running towards the front, dont need to be ringing its neck while I cut my teeth. Obviously there will still be loads of room to evolve the car, for me thats the best.
What kind of power are your ford/puegot/Citroen...
Sandy what would a saxo/106/205 realisticly cost to build with one of your engines and a sorted chassis. I suppose a diff , modified axles, wishbones etc etc would be needed to be a front runner??
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Yeah he said he had a chat, ironic that you two were left sitting with same issue, bloody cold I bet too......that's becoming one of my spares now. Yeah his motor goes pretty well for what it is with slicks on, he wasn't home untill midnight, long day.
Yeah definitely...
Yeah I know they are one piece mate, when I say intermediate bar I mean the connecting piece between the two on the shaft's cv's. I'm pretty sure the whole shaft is Sadev's own manufacture, the hub sides are 23 splines, inside is sadev's own to fit their diff and I'm guessing its their own...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Nice to meet you today mate, shame about the alternator, easy enough fix though.
Im gutted I didn't get out for a run in yours, my pals cars had a few problems of their own to help with.
Ian my 23 spline 172 cup shafts fit my hubs, I was told the sadev box and shafts were custom. I'm not sure about intermediate bar of the sadev shafts going into 172 cup outer's though.
Agreed that buying a ready built car is cheaper but if your like me, you would replace or redo most of the work anyway, beats the purpose. Most pre raced cars up for sale are in need of a rebuild as owners have had their fun and moving up or out of racing. You will pay a premium for a car that's...
Lol you weren't on about lows then haha, ktec sell a rear strutbrace that takes 2 seconds off your lap times I heard.
Yeah get weight down low, look at basic principles, ackerman, RCA and all that jazz.
AST's are slotted right iirc
Agreed improving the driver is always the cheapest option but if you do want to improve the clio chassis, look at roll centres as well as bump steer as clio's are quite out of sorts when lowered. Correct me if im wrong but a correct roll centre will gain more time than caster. Slot your...
Yeah you could still use PMS brace if you were to use the BMW style that you linked but with the rotational type you would have to drill a lot of holes if you wanted to keep them adjustable and changed your setup regularly.
PS no rush if its too much bother just now.
Re: AndyRG - Opps ive done it again!
Legend, just spoke to Paul at drive link and he can do shafts for same price and a little extra to overhaul. Pennies in comparison to what some want for new intermediate bar.
