Weight of engine.
Upto 30mm-40mm lower use standard shocks, anything lower use uprated shocks and springs or coilovers, same rule applies for pretty much every car. Simple really.
Lewis the torque curve just looks flat all the way through the rev range at 150lbft with the 45's where the 90's come from 150ish base range up to 170lbft.
120's are supposed to be the same gain as the 90's again from what I have heard but with more of a peak figure but also some more low down...
Re: Road/Track 172
Going back for a 2nd time in the porker lol, lovely car from the pics.
It would be a good bit of work but with all the cars being broken it could be done cheaply. I still have all interior plastics, rear seats, bolts etc etc if you go down that route. You could have them for...
I didn't try it mark tbh, although I could 95% say it wouldn't work. Iceman could maybe help as I don't think he ran a saxo pump to begin with when he got the large rad. As Ash has said I plan to not run P/S to start with then if I don't like it I have Iceman's old saxo pump setup.
The rad...
Cage looks ammence as usual with a CC cage, tig is they way to have them done really. Bet the fitting cost brought a tear to your eye though.
Will it be 120mm trumpets you put on if your supercharging and fitting ITB's, surely little 40's will do the same job an give you more room?
Not sure if it's the right place to post this but does anyone have the maximum speeds for each gear in the 172 cup.
It's 1st & 5th I'm interested in particular.
I had a bit of a problem doing mine, make sure to put the selector in a gear where the pin will pass the casing where you removed the circlip. Use a big screwdriver to prise/lever it out.
Its hard to describe really, but use a bit of force and it should come, the two plastic half's that go...
Yeah I am selling a set that have been machined to fit 280mm (standard disks) and brackets to suit. Comes with nearly new pads as well, check the for sale section. PM me if your serious im open to offers and have info on them.
Im trying to reduce costs involved in painting the interior hence not wanting to use base coat and clear coat plus for patching in repairs when mods or scratched etc, just easier all round if its a 2k colour, hard wearing as well I have been told.
The site I was on listed it in the 2k base coat...
I am looking for a graphite grey/anthracite paint to do my cars interior and cage, I have been recommended to do it in 2k paint as it won't require a lacquer coat and with it being tricky to paint the inside, it would be better to avoid the lacquer which tends to run easier than base coats.
My...
Nice to see some ACTUAL measurements. If the hubs are the same throughout the 1*2 range then the 172 cup is 39mm than phase 1 and 29mm wider than the 172 FF. I now know how they got the extra camber/caster/track width. There is a lot of talk but this is in black and white.
With a lot of trouble basically, probably one of the hardest bits to get right. Tight to weld and see. Cut holes in the right place in the bulkhead where it will have to go through, not too big and re-plate around them once in to stop any fluids coming in. You can cope the top tubes into the...
I presume you have an IK, that's why your fitting the tank? If so, just mount it to the frame between the battery and air filter as there should be room with IK.
That would explain the longer drive shaft's, longer track rod ends fitted to cups. Extra caster from the offset holes on wishbones and extended track and camber from the subframe. Seems like an easy solution on Renaults part.
