Well - had an epically productive day with a couple of mates round
Got up at 8.30 (kinda excited about it all) - put the car on the drive about 9.30 after everyone else had woken up
Took the subframe off - fitted the 182 manifold (the fitting guide on here is SPOT ON) - fitted the dodgy welded...
I've never cared about insurance - it's not worth stressing about. You either have it or your one of the t***s that drives around without it
I just factor it in when I buy a car - paid £1850 a year on the 106 when I was younger
Brands Hatch they didn't care at all - which was kinda handy because it was a very warm day
Every other track day I've done they've insisted on having arms covered... weird
Yep certainly would
Used the same stuff on a mate of mines 106 back in the day - some Honda CBR600 bodies with a chopped metal inlet manifold and we just joined them with silicon hose
Just be careful because the petrol vapour does eventually eat into it but it'll be fine for a year I would guess
Bogg Bros - dealt with them loads as they do manifolds for bike carb conversions on the Pug 106's
I've never liked their manifolds - very expensive for poor fitment and bad welds :(
Yup! Amazing what some "motorsport" companies produce isn't it lol
It's taken WAY too long but I finally got my Brands Hatch videos uploaded to youtube
Open pit day I did with the renaultsport lads back in September
It was the first time I'd used the gopro on my roll cage and to be honest the angle is too wide in 720p mode so excuse me and the girlfriends...
I'm sorry but that inlet manifold is gash!!
Why do you need a machine shop? I'd just scribe a line into them that reduces the angle and chop them with a bandsaw
Other option - why not get some 30degree silicon joiners - that would angle the carbs down too and you seem to have plenty of room in...
Netgear Stora every day of the week
Bought mine without hard drives for £60 new (ebuyer) - then put 2 x 2tb hard drives in it with RAID backup
Overall cost £180 - works brilliantly and is completely silent
The idle on my standard map is around 850rpm - the idle on the rstuner map was 1000rpm
I think that's why it always felt smoother lol
Sounds like you've got a vacuum leak somewhere
Hell of a good choice that! Superb sensor
As for the entry level nonsense - it's all b****cks. A £6-700 camera isn't "entry level"
Most people sub-£400 is entry level and most DSLR manufacturers aren't committing much to that level anymore because bridge cameras are a much better choice
Cheaper, higher quality lenses
And the 5100 that uses the sony sensor is hardly entry level - its £550 with a crap lens
'Entry level' dslr's are pointless these days - bridge cameras are cheaper and in 90% of the cases better!
That's a bit of a stupid post
Canon's sensor technology is generations behind is it? Have you seen the 1D X - industry leader lol
Canon just choose to developer higher res sensors whereas nikon tend to stick to lower res and better noise handling
If you're gonna go out taking photos of mates...
I'll be interested to see this
I ran my car with the standard map and the RSTuner map alternatively for a year - did several track days on both the standard and the remap
I found the RSTuner map to be MUCH smoother on idle, I got better fuel economy, and it allows you to rev fully sooner (not...
LOL this thread'll end up in a flaming war
If your a canon man like me - you'll say canon
If your a nikon man you'll say nikon
Personally I'll always stay canon - they have nicer glass at a more affordable price and a much bigger range of second hand kit to choose from.
I also find all the...
You could just swap the bonnet for one from a scrap yard - piece of piss
Then just chuck a vinyl wrap on the roof - do it matt black or something
Utter bargain of a car if you ask me - engine and gearbox are worth that alone if you stripped it!
Rang up renault in Lincoln today to order some parts as my company frown on us having personal post delivered to work *sigh*
Exhaust manifold gasket, inlet manifold gasket, o-ring for the VVC actuator, throttle cable - they wanted £76!!!!
Gave Tom from Wests Renault a ring - same lot for £49...
Yeah was nice meeting you too mate
I have the fun job of fitting the 182 manifold this weekend before I can start with the bodies LOL
I'll hopefully be doing combe march/april though - can't wait :D
Well ever since my early days of 106 ownership I have ALWAYS wanted the noise and the power delivery you only get from throttle bodies
And finally the wait is over...
I don't think I've ever been this happy!! :D
Ahh sweet cheers
I need to order inlet manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, exhaust to cat fitting kit, a 182 breather plate and gasket...
I'll add the o-ring onto my renault order. Bloody expensive parts from renault though :(
I'm not entirely sure if that's leaking or if I missed when topping up the oil last time and couldn't clean it up because the inlet manifold was sat on top
I'm gonna degrease it all and clean it up and keep an eye on it when it's back on the road. Not sure if theres a seal on it I can replace...
Right - this weekend I started stripping everything down ready for the Jenveys WOOT!
Yep - you read that right - I've finally given in to a childhood dream and bought a set of Jenveys and Omex 600 from a mate in Lincoln. I can't wait!
All went without a hitch :D
I also removed the exhaust...
Hahahaha I think my bloody solid mounts have worn for it
It's getting binned this winter anyway for something that cuts out in the bumper. Bodies = Spitting flames ;)
