16" Ultraleggras will look ace. Drop it on Eibach Sportlines. As for brakes I think the Brembo HC that yozza sells will fit a none RS clio and they are well regarded on the 1*2s so more than good enough for a 1.6
Cup is lighter so is slightly quicker but at the cost of more poverty spec. Ph1 has cable accelator which is better than the FBW in the Cup. Also Cup has no ABS which if its for use on the road is a bad thing imo.
lmao... getting a bit odd this lol. I am trying admiral now as a worst case insurance quote lol.
EDIT: Dont think Admiral will eb getting my business ever... They quoted me £1200 standard and £1900 with alloys, suspension, roll cage and uprated brakes
tbh i think i will love it, and well the missus will jsut have to put up with it! She knows me well enough to know I will buy whatever I want, whether she likes it or not. Actually we were talking about cars last night and it went something like this:
Sarah: Whatever you have I am going to...
Neils thread is making me swing back towards the idea of a ph1 172... so whats a stripped out car like to live with on a day to day basis? and again, whats insuring them like with cage etc?
I think you are probably right, will depend on finding the right car for the right money. Need to sort some stuff out regards getting rid of my punto now
sounds good mate! I know how you must have been feeling as I am in similar situation to you at the moment and I was about to link you to the thread but I see you have jsut posted in it lol
pm CrazyClio he is probably going to be your best source of information on air bag suspension. If you are after low though Fred would also be a good bet as his was very low, handled very well and wasnt on airbag
Budget upto £5k, prefer staying nearer £3k love clios in all shapes and sizes and was thinking along the lines of a hybrid/willy and stripping it, cage, buckets etc but then i have always loved the ph1 172 and could do something similar, but a good one is nearer the top end of the budget, third...
Pointless thread! Insurance varies too much to gauge your quote off someone elses prices. I can vary my quote on a 1.2 clio by £500 by changing my address to one 2 miles up the road, oh and at my address its only £250 so a 200% increase!
Do what you want to the 1.2 and enjoy it for what it is. then when you want more power look at all your options. If you want a simple upgrade then the f4r (the 172/182 engine) is a good upgrade, but it isnt exactly cheap to tune. The other option, but more expensive intially is to put the VAG...
the only way to make it look exactly like a V6 is buy the body parts from renault which will cost a fortune. The V6 replica kits looks like s**t in a clear plastic bag. If you really want a wide arch style clio as already said, go for the prima racing rally maxi kit
