I wouldn't bother. I had a 172 at 17. Was fun but not really worth it in the long run.

Both are 8v. Get the 1.6 as its a bit more torquey.

100bhp for both the 1.6 and the 1.4. Weight around 850kg. My old one was a hoot to drive.

C2 vts' are slow. Big heavy things.

You much have side/parking lights as an MOT requirment. Mine passed mot with out though. Even had a shattered light washer jet. Reno garages are s**t lol

Yep. I've had a Valver, 172, Westfield, 1.6 XSi and the GTi.

Very Rare in Gti form. There were only 3 that colour at FCS. Colour coding and lowering does wonders for them tbh. Everything thing else should be laft STD as said.

How do you compare your old GTi to your 172. I went 172 - Westfield - GTi. I like the GTi more to drive. Its equally as quick. It may slight lack some go when changing from 5th to 3rd to overtake. Still i've beaten a few mates in thier 172's. The interior isn't as good as a 172 niether...
