Yeah april one is spot on for a skegvegas run - was just thinking one a bit sooner in Lincoln would be cool too
Seems to be a lot of RS owners around - be nice to meet some locals
Re: someph-ing different...........
Just sat and read all 73 pages of this - awesome blog and awesome car
Absolutely love the cage - given me loads of inspiration for the cup now ;)
Glad my pics have come in handy :D
Hrmmm my car needs doing - since i fitted my new OMP steering wheel the whole thing is a few degrees out (yes the wheel is in the right place on the column!)
There's a place in lincoln with a hunter system - are they really that good?
What he said ^^
Quite a few people have started doing it with standard discs - spray them all with high temp black paint, then go for a drive
The paint wears off the braking surface but the rest is left black so doesn't go all rusty and look s**t
April 17th is fine with me - but I'm fairly sure we could get a meet together for end of this month
Just turn up at elite fish and chips - say hi to each other - eat some food - random drive out cherry willingham way if people want
Bosh
If its anything like 106 ones and others i've done - smear a LITTLE bit of washing up liquid on the bush so that the metal bracket can slide on it - then in the past I've had to use a trolley jack to apply force to the bush while you bolt it up
Never done a clio though so this is just generic...
Definatly count me in for this
Mel - no no no no no NOOOOOO
Not lucy tower - I'll probably be on my coilovers by then - I aint smashing my carbon front splitter off on that stupid exit ramp!
Powerflex are open and trading now - spoke to them at autosport international
Ordered a set of dog mount bushes on monday on ebay and got them today ;)
I have a set of recaro speed seats which were in my 106
I wan't to fit these to my 53 plate Clio 172 Cup
I've read the guide for trendlines that says to use Recaro adaptors 686829A and 686819A - and then use the standard seat runners
Do you know if the same subframes will fit my recaro...
That's perfectly valid - and lots of people have said it's worth the extra £40 for the UK stock and warranty
What's a bit off is that KTec were slagging the product off saying it was poor quality and wouldn't last - and then a week later start selling it
I bought 50x 2.7ohm resistors off ebay for about £3 - they turned up next day
2 of them in the air bag wires where i've fitted my OMP wheel and boss, then 1 in each of the seat belt pretensioners - worked a treat
I folded the wire over to make it a bit thicker - pushed it into the clip then...
Yeah I have to say that's part of the reason why I'm just going to buy the KTR coilovers - or maybe after reading this whole thread get Gaz or something instead
It's fairly clear that when people started buying these that KTR slagged the kit off implying it would fail quickly and they didn't...
I've had plenty of experience with raceland from running the 106owners club. Their manifolds are used a LOT with 106 and saxo owners
In my past experience they sell directly into the UK through sites like ebay until they get a distributor in the UK. I think they then see it as bad business...
Which stud is it? Top gearbox mount or bottom?
I'll have a look at them at the weekend
Just ordered a powerflex lower mount - hoping that will stop the knocking for now - then i'll get the KTR top ones on pay day
Got a small problem with my 172 Cup - If I give it a boot full in low gears there's a really loud metal banging noise - I assume from what I've read its the exhaust hitting stuff due to knackered engine mounts
Seems to come from the left hand side
I've tried pushing the engine while it's...
As a follow up to this - mines now passed
I found the arm on the rear bias valve was very rusty with no movement at all so spent 30mins freeing that up with some wd40 - then I cable tied the arm up to the chassis as I didn't trust the little spring to hold it up
Took the rear pads out and...
