    Coilover height for track

I had mine corner weighted before I tracked it. What I can say though is the car behaved brilliantly, a guy who races a Clio in tintops also took it out and said it was a well sorted car. I'd recommend it overall definitely.

Erratic idle after injector change on 182

@JamesBryan and I are resident injector changing experts after doing it three times in half an hour on mine last week only to find out it was a knackered HT lead causing the misfire this time.

    Clio MK3 facelift 1.2 to 1.2 tce

Probably a lot easier to sell up and buy a TCE mate considering insurance and resale issues along with the actual conversion.

Mr Plums Progress.. Clio 182 Turbo!

Looks and goes great mate. You'll not stop spending money on it though, there is always something else you can have.

    Matthew's VW Tiguan

Not really comparable to a 172. There is ten years and £17,000 between them. I'd rather the ST as a daily, in fact I'm considering one, but I love my Clio for track and messing about with.

Harness Bar vs. Half-Cage, and Airbags

it seems to be done quite a lot. I don't think anybody would really know until they have a big shunt how well it would hold up. Renault use harnesses in the 275 Trophy R without a cage and that passes tests etc so surely it isn't essential. Longer term plan is to get a cage.

Harness Bar vs. Half-Cage, and Airbags

Bit of a bump here but I am thinking of having a bar welded in with spreader plate like the picture Sam posted. Would 100 x 100 mm 3mm steel plates with standard roll cage tubing welded in by a proper welder be safe and sufficient to mount harnesses?

[Feb 1, 2015] North west rolling road day (Runcorn)

@JamesBryan you fancy it? Providing we can fix my car tomorrow?
  9. Brett

Any rolling road days in the pipeline?

I'm up for it, once I've fixed the car.

    BMW F20 120D X-Drive

What's the monthly payment on one of these if you don't mind me asking. I'll be getting a new daily early next year and the 1 series is around the top of my list.

    What Clio's have people owned?

    1.2 16v Extreme 4 Ph1 172 182 FF Ph1 172. My current ph1 is just a track hack which I run alongside a daily diesel Ibiza.

    2nd car and mirroring NCB

Greenlight did it for me @Jonff

    What/did you get next?

I replaced my 182 with a Seat Ibiza FR TDI due to the moon mileage I do, I now run a ph1 172 track car along side it. I wouldn't go back to a Clio as a daily though, there are so many better cars for a daily hack. They're brilliant on track though for how little they cost.

    Cookie's 2003 M3

Great all rounders. Has it has the compression test and the rear subframe checked?

    Audi TT at Harewood House

I miss my MX5 for roof down winter drives. I need to get insured on my Grandad's MR2.

    French Boost Project

I love this car. Great buy.

    Oulton park today

Looks a decent range of cars there. I can't wait to get back on Oulton next year.

Brands today. My first track day

Did you enjoy it? How was the car on the circuit?

    Saxo turbo

They're a guilty pleasure of mine too. Almost got one five years ago but I got an insurance quote I could afford on a ph1 172 so got one instead.

    Camshaft pros and cons

Utterly pointless. Just buy a Renaultsport, they cost less to buy than the cams, fitting and mapping on the 1.4.

What tyres do you run on track?

+1 They were great on track, sidewalls didn't deform at all. Craig even commented on how good they were.

    New car part 2

How fast are these? Do they handle nicely? An old member on here had a 370Z and rated it very highly.

172 Cup vs 197 Cup for Track Car

The diff will make it amazing. It's one thing the car lacks out of the box for track. I'd never noticed how much it would benefit from a diff from road driving alone.

[Aug 1, 2015] ClioSport Saturday 2015 (Blyton, Gainsborough)

I'll probably book the morning track day then I can spend the afternoon drinking. Sounds like a winner to me.

    I'm up for that. @Niall97 @JamesBryan ???

    My winter chariot.

I like it, obviously a Defender is better but its the V8 off the car bucket list.

To turbo charge or not to turbo charge?

Seems pointless to me. Just buy a Megane R26, map it and get decent coilovers if you want to go fast on track. If you want to just have fun on track nothing wrong with Clio with a bit of weight reduction, properly setup coilovers, decent brakes and track focused rubber. My Clio weights 989 kg...

No @couzens ? Not happy about that lad.

    Second Car.. which one

Get something other than a Clio. They're great fun but I wouldn't want two. 197 money would get you into an S2000, MX5 etc.
