I bought the PS3 solely for GT5 and after that flop it just became a Blu-Ray player, I'm never going to touch PS / GT* again. Forza is getting too commercial and losing its focus for me, but thankfully it can be tweaked to take some of the junk away.
In the last games I was always known to just 'spunk' money wildly on upgrades for cars and I'm showing much more constraint this time around, I think they've tweaked the game in some ways that really make it work better this time around, like the fact if you come 2nd or 3rd you still are classed...
I'm loving it personally, best to date IMHO. It's definitely better with the drivatar liveries off, I have to confess to turning stability control back on when in high powered RWD cars as it just gets like a bumper car ride with some of the things the drivatars do and I was getting into fits of...
Discounts are always there to be had, its just a case of looking around, in my experience with a bit of research there are atleast 2 dealers in the South that have a reputation for being able to offer much better pricing than the majority.
I'd be using 5.1 downstairs, but with it being upstairs my audio is just over HDMI. If I buy a second One later on for downstairs it would be an issue but hopefully it would be resolved by then, although I don't know what my options are in terms of saved games etc as with the 360s I used to...
Mine is setup in the bedroom also (my missus uses the main TV in the living room every night) and it would be pointless having an Xbox as I'd never get to use it. I play sitting on the bed and the TV is mounted on the wall, it works perfectly well.
I'm literally fighting my 900 odd bhp F12 around the circuits, talk about handful with everything off. I wish I had a 4WD Lamborghini instead at times.
On the home screen of the Xbox, highlight (position yourself over) Forza, press what was the start button on the controller (now the Menu button) go into addons.
My car pack was already installed.
It certainly exhausts a fair amount of heat.
I wouldn't describe it as light myself, it still weighs some.
It HAS to be used horizontally, you can have it vertical but that isn't recommended by Microsoft.
I'm finding Forza a bit of a failure of its own success tbh, Topgear track events are just a joke and I'm not interested in driving through Prague etc, I just want real life courses. Driving against drivators is better, but I find the cars all being covered in liveries annoying, I enjoy seeing...
Plugged Virgin in, controls that actually work seem minimal (mute, go to tv etc) not much beyond that. Also, it seems if the Xbox isn't on you can't use Virgin by itself, but that was before configuring the Xbox and this is all without having read / researched anything so I could be doing things...
