I think it also depends on the rally and how close to towns they are. The ones in Scotland mentioned above are easy accessible for the people who just want to go and see a rally and get pissed. Where as rallys such as Mull are harder to get to and not easy to get into places you shouldn't. But...
The people who are standing in and taking pictures in silly places are luckily a small minority. By the looks of the above it's mainland Europe in the pictures and video.
The organisers of rallys in this country have a hard job as people move after safety cars have past and stages are live. As...
Seen plenty of cages that haven't been fitted correctly and dangerous. As Jon and jb say a 4 point will be more than sufficient just make sure that it is fitted correctly with spreader plates welded in.
There is still a good amount of weight in them doors to come out! I have managed to get 10kg out of each of the Twingo ones.
I like your work it's clean and tidy (y)
Just do it! My advice is do it feb/March. Its quite and the winter scenery is much better then more time socialising on an evening in the pub with a wee dram (y)
Lots of nice roads up on the west coast when I lived in Oban. Kinlochring, Glen etive (when there are no f**king tourists), A816 from Lochgilphead to Oban, any road on the Isle of Mull, Ardnamurchan peninsula the list goes on!
There is quite a few 133's getting broken on ebay. You may also need to do the front end as the front end I don't know if it's just the bottom arms are different or subframe also.
This will be quicker than my 133 lol. Just remember if you put the 133 kit on to figure in wheel spacers all round. I have some off the 133 orange seat belts and bench rear seat I will be selling if any interest to you.
Think we all feel like we talk to ourselves on build threads tbh at times. I definitely do building my little odd ball.
Fingers crossed for you for October as thins are still up in the air with travel.
Yeah it's rather addictive Mull once you have done it you just want to keep going back! I had a clean run last time apart from not having anything but slick tyres and it pissed down all weekend lol. My local club just do auto tests and have no interest in anything else unfortunately.
If you see...
Seat time is also important imo, when I did 12 cars and road rallys I did 2 years of championships and the difference in confidence is night and day compared to the od event. I am on 2 events in 5 years at the minute lol.
@NorthloopCup and @Nathan Evans cooking something up will be interesting!
Definitely when you look at the inboard videos Nathan is definitely a very quick driver. It doesn't mater what your in if you can't drive you won't get anywhere. I am to old to drive quick these days and having kids stops...
I own a Twingo and it's good fun in a old hot hatch way. It's also a cup so has no aircon, bench rear seat, 2 speaker CD player and that's pretty much it.
It's been totally reliable even with the 163 kit added. Rear springs snap, bottom arms are expensive dealer only items (look for the updated...
