Check the abs rings on the brake discs, they could be really rusty or even split. It's a common problem on 1*2s so could be the same on your Campus.

@Dr Jekyll I can only assume different manufacturers have different lengths. These are my non stainless nipples. The stainless I'm using are definitely slightly longer.

First time I've heard that the wheel base on a 172 and 182 are different. I've never seen it in any information that was put out by Renault.

I've got a brand new caliper here , I've just measured my nipple and its 27.6mm long. I've got stainless nipples in all of my calipers and I'm pretty sure that the threaded part is 1 or 2 mm longer and protrude a tiny bit more out of the caliper, but it doesn't affect them being a little bit longer.
