Well from my experience 172 rear discs tend to rust around the edges faster than they wear out and Id expect the pads to wear much faster than the discs. Rear pads on 172 are pretty skinny to start with and as a result some garages reckon theyre worn out earlier than they actually are.
Fact...
Ive been advised (on a V6) that disconnecting the battery for 30 secs will at least reset the light ... even tho the error will remain logged. Expect its similar on the 172.
I had the courtesy call from the sales manager, a call from the warranty manager to introduce himself and promise his personal attention on the niggles I identified post-delivery, the accident pack and being a V6 a special metal V6 box with some bits and pieces in and a letter from the head of...
Hmmm ... back on again  Car still running fine. Different conditions this time. Car was started after being parked for 3.5 hours. Hadnt been trashed either since I was reserved on the way to work too.
Also cant get it looked at for ages by Mike172s garage (15/8) However Id rather...
Side fans are pretty cool ... suck in passing children ;) Had mine come on whilst queuing in traffic on the A34 the other day. If the surrounding drivers werent looking enough already ... they sure did when the turbines came on :D
Day ... hes part way thru now and just like his daddy I expect him to have his first degree from Oxford (in Tamagotchi studies aka PPP) by the time hes 7 :p
Nik ... yep thats the sun-beaten hunky surf dude look that he predicted Id get whilst on last weeks holiday in Cornwall. Of course I...
Mk 1 VW Polo 1.3 - GAA 104S. Rusty silver. Damage to front and rear. Two "beyond economic repair" payouts. Did about 130k before it died. Was my parents, then my sisters, then mine, and finally my missus. Last 50k done with no air filter and keeping speed below 60mph due to worn valve guides...
Thanks!!
My paranoia level is rising ... so of course I was too paranoid to try restarting the engine (which had just finished 120 mile thrashing) to see if the orange light Im paranoid about was going to go out
Roll on 5:30 when I can start my journey home and hopefully my...
Hmmm ... so now my cruise control isnt work at all. It was yesterday since I flicked the switch on as part of my DIY tests ahead of the car going to the garage. Now nothing happens ... doesnt show the cruise control / limiter light at all when set.
Either an unfortunately timed case of...
Thought that latest update was for Mk1s only to fix the issue when the aircon was on?
My Mk2 is post- the ECU update and so had already had that one done.
Theyve reset it with the Clip and all seems fine and dandy. Fingers crossed. Even when it was on the car was running fine so think it just got its knickers in a twist where it was stopped and started three times in reasonably quick succession. Hopefully wont be a recurring issue
Orange emissions light came on this morning ... after Id be stopping and starting the car being a dick about where to park in a (terrifying) multi-storey car park. Car was and is running fine.
Sat at Inchape in Soton now until they can look at this PM. Hopefully a few minutes with Clip will...
Blue-green ... maybe flip ... V6 look-alike. Wed/Thurs last week.
Wish Id got a picture but I was too taken aback and travelling in the other direction TBH. Dont know if it was a good un (ie. wheels spaced properly) ... but had mesh in the intakes which didnt look right.
I need a "my...
Cool ... enjoy it mate :D
Ive missed my Vee all week since Ive been away (having a lovely time in Cornwall) ... but now Daddys back. Hmmm ... I feel a long drive to get a take away coming on ;)
Spotted just around 17:00 turning up towards the M27 in Hedge End by my missus :o She said "look a Trophy". How did you know I asked? "Because it said Trophy" in cheap "writing on the side" she said ;) Surprisingly she didnt say "needs lowering" :p
I know it was Nik, but Im still impressed...
Little to add beyond what the guys above have already said. Ive found it suprisingingly practical and have even taken it to IKEA a couple of times and squeezed a suprising amount of stuff in with a little bit of planning.
I use mine every day too ... and cant imagine wanting to drive...
