I'm so amazed at this uncharacteristically balanced thread that I think a picture is in order :).
Time to go and drive home from work in my Vee ... I'm smiling already at the mere thought of it :D :D :D.
Was behind me and then in front of me on the M27 and then north onto the M3 this morning. We exchanged waves. Reg was S* GON if my patchy memory serves me correctly.
So happens I've had a couple of photo opportunities this week so here's a couple of new pictures ..
And a personal fav ...
And here's my least favourite picture of the week ...
v6clio.net has recently updated its gallery software and hence the thread referenced above is now lacking the picture of what to do. However, here's a link to the picture in its new location.
Well I spent lots of time considering this when I bought mine. Went a looked at Vees in various colours to get a proper feel for how they looked in real light versus in a photo. I even ordered a red one ... but then changed my mind after spending more time looking at an Illiad blue one and...
As others have said ... 16/17k is achievable for a Mk2 since with the V6 appealing to specific tastes and hence a smaller market, it's definitely a buyers market at the moment. Mk1s can be had for 3-4k less.
I'm a father of 3, and I use my Vee as my everyday car so don't let anybody tell you...
Hmmm ... did I really never respond to this thread? Evidence if ever there was of how I'm not on CS much these days.
Born, bred, and still living many decades later in Hedge End near Southampton. Apart from my time away at Uni, I reckon I've lived in a 2 mile radius all my life ... if it...
In which case ... you're more than welcome to drive your car of choice ... and I'll drive round with a permanent smile loving my Vee.
Incredulous at the comparison is an understatement :S.
Very sorry to see the damage to your rear bumper :(.
Agree front end is terrible for stone chips ... after 10k miles mine looks like it's been sandblasted in places :(. I'm expecting to have to get it resprayed every 18 months or so if I want to keep the chips under control.
And yes ... the...
I bought my Vee because
- I thought they looked mental from the moment I first saw one - reminded me of mad Group B cars of old like Metro 6R4 from when I was younger
- I've always wanted something with more that 4 cylinders but didn't want anything bigger than a hot hatch
- The TopGear review...
The thing that I notice with many of these threads is that the V6 owners have owned 172/182s before their V6s and so have strong experience of both and can speak from experience ... but the non-V6 owners maligning the V6s have never owned or driven a V6! Strange that!
I loved my 172 ... great...
Previously owned and cared for by somebody on v6clio.net. He sold it a short while back, and appears that the new owner found he couldn't afford to insure it. Mileage is higher than most other Vee's you'll see ... but it's an absolute steal with a known history. Will need a cambelt change at 72k...
