Glad you're home safely Emma :).
Driving the 172 in snow was always OK ... as blaze said above it's all about doing things slowly and relying more on core torque to go and engine braking to stop vs. accelerator and brakes. Eagle F1 GSD3s don't help much tho' ;).
However, I'm not looking...
Functional picture taken out the front of the local Renault garage when I dropped my car off for some warranty work a couple of weeks ago. Was the first time I'd used them ... and so was even more anal than usual when it came to documenting the mileage and lack of damage on the car when I...
Mars Red Vee spotted by my boys today on roundabout in Portchester. Registration was V10 R** and it was driven by "an old man" ;).
There always used to be a Mk1 Vee in Portchester on the road down to the castle. Maybe they've replaced it with this one?
In which case look out for me since I drive up and down Hursley Road reasonably regularly. Indeed I drove down it today on the way to Chandler's Ford Renault to get my reversing switch replaced (only took my like 6 months to get around to it :o).
Vees are very easy to write off since when it comes to parts it's a case of think of your worst nightmare and then double it. For example, a single side scoop alone is a good £500 without spraying . Therefore a knock that on a normal car is pretty minor, will still wipe a Vee out from an...
Doubt there is an official figure for it ... but it's circa 15 seconds I believe.
... and James beat me too the punch but on CS a post is for life not just for Xmas ;).
LOL ... V6 was behind and was just doing enough to keep on the Golf's bumper. No need for heroics especially with the roads being slippy this time of year.
However Elephant will still do you on renewal even tho' your NCD hasn't been affected and even if the claim was against a third party and is fully settled . Apparently your NCD isn't affected but your risk rating is, even if you're the blameless party.
It's been claimed my car is a mid-life incident ... but (a) I still feel 21 and (b) I've had hot hatches since I was 21 (with a small break when I first had kids before I realized my wife should have the big family car ;)) so it's not like I've suddenly changed my tastes.
Enjoy your 172 :D.
Got mine from the other month from Novatech ... looks like it's gone up since I got mine tho' ... a 36 in 1 USB2 reader for £7.99+VAT. I also have the advantage that I can pop in a pick it up and so not have to pay postage.
Yep ... that's the one. I'm not into having a really big TV since my boys watch enough as it is and I don't want it dominating our living room. This one seems to be the ideal balance between the screen size but small dimensions.
Just the other week I got a 26" Samsung LE26R41BD which I think is probably the same one as Karen. Very pleased with it ... it's got all the right inputs and is properly high-definition ... and is always very well regarded in the AV press.
Aye ... you're not joking there y0z .
And Jaine ... we've never met ... but I've a long memory for what I've read on CS over the years so I of course remember you and your 172, and you selling it and getting the Mini. Welcome back :D.
EVOgone ... how much time have you spent driving V6s? Mk1? Mk2? Just realized that across this whole thread I don't think (tho' I'm not going to re-read the whole thing to check ;)) you've ever explained the background experience behind your views against the Vee.
