£10k might just about get you a higher mileage V6 Mk1 ... but it's pushing it a bit.
Many of the V6 owners hang out at ...
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Averages out around 23 MPG for most ... goes lower if you thrash it and all the way up to 30 MPG or so for folk who do lots of motorway miles. It's got a lot of grunt and so you can short shift and rely on the torque when driving on normal busy british roads, and save the screaming 7krpm behind...
The V6 seems to be a car that petrolheads like to own once in their life ... and then being petrolheads after a year they move onto the next car on their list. Reckon it's often the way with unique cars like the Vee ... and shows up thru' the fact that some Vees have had plenty of owners. I've...
If you get proper Renault rear discs then new bearings are already pressed in so if your discs are anyway near doing (or perhaps badly rusted since the rears rust badly round the edges) might pay to do both jobs at once.
Late Mk1 ... it's got the colour coded Renault diamond boot button. Most immediate give away tho' is the Mk1 identity plate. Mk2s have cheap stick on jobbies ... and only get upto about #350!
The above car is also missing the headlight washers which Mk2 has because of the Xenons.
Nothing to be concerned about. The turning circle certainly adds to the experience, but it's not difficult to get used to ;).
Normal car parks are fine ... you end up taking a couple of bites to get into a space (even when reversing in) but so what. When turning out of a tight junction you need...
So given the shared birthdays ... here's what I went and bought helped by the cash from Fudgey for the 172 a year ago ...
And here it is a year later ...
9800 miles ... 430 gallons of 98/99 RON ... and about 100 stone chips on front made out of soft cheese later.
I still look...
I'm not holding my breath for a new V6. Creating a car like the Clio V6 costs a manufacturer lots of money ... and hence they can only justify doing so every once in a while. There's something like 15+ years between the Renault 5 Turbo and the Clio V6 for that very reason.
Sure Renault could do...
Spotted again by me today tho' I was in my bus not the Vee. The first ever Mars Red I've seen on the road and looking very good! In fact it's only the 3rd Mk2 I've seen on the road, and I must say don't V6s look cool as fcuk on the move :D.
This time it was coming up the A27 out of Fareham...
My missus has never even been in my car. She's insured to drive it, and actually I'm telling a slight porkie since she has been in it once when she moved it 5m out of the garage. However, she refuses to get in the car with me driving it. Wonder why?
Been discussed in various threads previously ... including a picture of the damage. From the look of it, there's no reason to assume it's a dog. Fairly typical tap on the front, but being a V6 the costs quickly mount up :(.

I'm going to touch you there even more now ... to say thank you for my special delivery that arrived this morning :approve:.
As expected Mr. Postie said "even more p**n Andy" :o.
Wheelbase is totally different on a V6 ... quite a bit longer. Therefore if you take proper V6 panels and stick them on a standard Clio you always end up with the rear wheels being too far forward.
