Doh ... and I thought I'd got a great price on mine brand new for £22k. Then again I suppose they discounted yours because of the colour ;).
Curiously I'm not interested at all in this comparative performance b****cks when it comes to cars ... so anybody who tells "you could get a faster car...
I dream of a turning circle like my 172 did ... tho' not to the point I'd ever change my car from the Vee tho' ;). Never had a problem in the 172, but the Vee is humorously bad. Forget driving forward into a parking space, and even reversing normally requires a couple of bites since the width of...
Yep ... well I think officially it's "up to 5%". Apparently bio-ethanol has a higher RON rating so it helps make up the 99, and is "greener".
I enjoy the performance the Tescos 99 gives me ... but I'm less struck on the reduction in MPG without any change in driving style.
In a choice between an alloy bonnet and a shift light ... the alloy bonnet is by far the better thing to have. As others have said it's spookily light, yet suprisingly robust :). And if you can't tell be ear when it's time to change then you're not trying hard enough ;).
Congratulations on becoming a Dad! Best thing in the world in my opinion :).
I'd suggest that you pop to Halfrauds or Mothercare and try out some different seats since they're happy to go and test that they fit well. And unlike others, unless your going to get a single stage 0-2 seat, you're...
My 172 was a late Mk1 and didn't have the light ... but had it had one it would have been on frequently ... once the engine was warmed up I fully used the rev range every day ;).
My Vee has a light and yes it comes on regularly :D.
I'm 91 next week according to my profile ;). I have 3...
Must admit that I never really considered getting a Mk1 ... principally due to the Mk2s more predictable handling dynamics, stronger gearbox and other bits, and ultimately the power did come into it too. Also wanted 3 years warranty and so bought from new.
Mk1 owners will tell you that the...
Owning a Vee is much less about out-and-out performance (tho' it's hardly slow despite the Cup jibes) and is much more about the whole "experience". There a not many affordable cars that give as special an experience as a Vee!
I washed mine (which is rare) on Xmas Eve and I've not taken it out of the garage since given the sh*tty weather :o. Even if it's not a handful in the snow, you can be sure that I'm going to be "working at home because my car can't handle snow" if ever it snows on a work day ;).
I went from a 172 Mk1 to a V6 255.
I loved my 172 ... was a great car and great fun to drive. Indeed I missed it for the 12 hours between selling it and getting the Vee.
I love my Vee much, much more tho'. Every trip in the Vee feels like a special event ... it's a unique driving experience...
So as a father of 3 young boys, I've always claimed that my Vee is totally practical. Well it's practical as long as you've got another car ;) but there are still those occasions where you need to use the Vee too. My trip to Ikea pictures proved one part of that practicality. However, today I...
... and since this will be off her insurance surely they can't wriggle as much on the returning to OE point.
They need to ensure your car is returned to the situation it was in when their insured party hit it ... they can't argue any small print about not repairing mods when you didn't sign...
I use FF primarily ... but for work related stuff which requires IE I use AvantBrowser which gives a great tabbed environment but builds on the IE engine.
... and the face the wrath of somebody like me who's got 3 young kids and a f**king big 7-seater to push the cars of people, who park in parent and child bays but haven't got kids, out of the way  ;).
I either take a suitably sized child with me ... or if I'm on my own park at the top of...
I've had mine from new for 9 months and 7k miles, and whilst the experience hasn't been quite as wonderful as Mike ... all the problems have been annoyances rather than catastrophes.
Loving every moment of owning it ... even popping to the shops feels like a special event . Totally...
