Yes that will be dephaser mate, they are usually quiet until the car has warmed up, then they make a noise. Another way is if you rev the car to about 2500 rpm the noise should go, then return when you return to idle
Dephaser will be £150-£180 depending on if you can get a deal from Renault, but the cambelt must be changed at the same time (unles it literally has just been done), so depending on the 172 you have, a belt change can be another £350 or so
You bought it 8 weeks ago mate? I would be straight back with it.
You are well within your rights to have them fix the issues, though the hub one may be a little harder due to them not seeing it before hand - I would ask the dealer, then speak to Renault customer services to see about some...
100 psi is too low!
180 psi is very good reading, but all cylinders should be within 10% of each other, and 100 psi is WAY Too low.
also, what plugs have been fitted? They NEED to be NGK PFR6E-10
Danny, it may have come over as a bit hostile, but Dan has been replying to threads like these for many years.
As a trader myself, as Dan says we have to abide by the law and yes - you MUST sell a car that is fit for purpose for a reasonable amount of time - it is a s**t law for dealers/traders...
First thing's first, has it had a cambelt change? If the timing is out it will run a bit lumpy, have worse fuel consumption and usually is flat at low revs
Not really, I completed the main story, and you get a certain amount for doing it - I then did the lester missions with the money I had from the end missions and got past 1 billion on each character - it is very easy :)
I agree, I wouldn't waste too much time getting money for the sake of...
The main way is the lester assaination missions, you can make billions with them, I flew through them and still made around 1 billion per character - you got to complete the main story line so you have max amount of cash to put into the stocks
save through the 10 days, takes about 12 mins.
And run in circles for the desert bit as you can get eaten by a mountain lion if you run off.
TOP TIP FOR THIS MISSION
LOL!
You know me mate :o
Cheers dude, need to dig out the back of the garage and find what I have left :-/
Yes please mate! Oh and text me back lol x
Yeah probably about that mate lol, oh looks like i'm buying a silver 172 cup tomorrow - WTF is wrong with me :S
:D
You forgot to text me back ;) x
lol will do dude, it is strangly nice to be back in a standard one, drives lovely, is quiet and quick!
Yup, though I do miss my Exclusive track car.....
lol cheers dude
Yeah there is too much slack in the dogbone, but even so the box shifts...
I've just bought the golf club and Michael still has 975 million in the bank lol.
Franklin has 800 mill and trevor 900 million - the Assassination missions are great if you do them properly :)
Wheels got to go, really do not suit Ph1's mate! i'm just not cool enough to get away with willy wheels ;) x
Looking out for some standard Exclusive ones :)
Um, not sure, I would imagine Colshe and Steve have had more, through their businesses, not sure about personal cars lol
You know...
Bought this off a mate for very little, has 71k, and is standard bar the 182 alloys. Number 126 iirc
No idea how long i'll have it lol, but plan is get some standard alloys on, and get it as mint as possible.
The bad points are a dent in the drivers door, and it hasn't been cleaned in...
Basically yeah, The engine started out life as the 2.0 used mainly in the Espace which had 138bhp, Renaultsport changed (amongst other things) the compression ratio, pistons, cams, inlet and exhaust and ECU, to give it circa 165-170bhp.
This is partly why it's tough to get power out of them...
