How many miles has your Clio done ?

    71,000 - Ph1 Clio Exclusive 146,000 - Mk3 Golf estate 1.9 tdi

Engine build about to start any ideas on what tuning mods that I should consider.

I would invest in a set of better con rod bolts (ARP) as these are the usual culprits to break first, apart from that getting everything blueprinted would get the best out of the engine. Cams would be good, but then you need a good map/aftermarket management so it depends how far you wish to go!

F4r Engine which one for high performance tunning ?

if you are stating n/A and want decent power (200bhp+) then it doesn't matter what you start with as most of the innards will need replacing if you wish to go over 220bhp mate - what power are you after?

    77k dephaser

do you have a receipt for it at all? No one in their right mind would change a dephaser without doing a belt. If it doubt just get the belt changed, does your cup have air con? If not it is pretty cheap to have done

    Rob_SRi NA/T Supra Build + Restoration..

Looks lovely mate, a mate had a turbo one, was just under 400 bhp and I have never driven a car that would get to 180mph so quickly like that one did - mental cars

    77k dephaser

Just make sure you change the oil regularly and it will be fine
  8. R

    77k dephaser

As said, the dephaser is NOT on the service schedule - the cambelt (full kit with tensions and aux belt and tensioners) are due every 72k or 5 years, which ever comes first, and the aux belt is due every 36k. The dephaser is not required to be changed, and gets noisy due to owners missing oil...

    tyres for winter

I had a set of wi ter tyres on a sales car last year and they were brilliant - couldn't believe how better they were on ice and wet roads, even snow. Now I have an old ratty mk3 Golf Estate that I've had for ages as a run around and it needs four new tyres. The issue is the size - it has...

I see no thread about it?! and you haven't said anything to me in any convo we have had?! (Maybe you no like me :( )

The Impreza picture and discussion thread

Personally i'd not want one blanked off - you get a great noise (normally like a loud flutter) but that noise is the inlet air rebounding back off the turbo blades, so a weak/old turbo can be damaged by this.

    Russ's 20th RS and 5th Exclusive

Not much to update, been using it for work this week and totting up what needs doing: Service - it's coming up on 72,000 and the plugs REALLY need doing - it's getting the usual low rev misfire that usually happens on the F4R when plugs get old. Get the dent out the door Still looking...

Driving with no tax and test

Incorrect. A lot of Insurance policies nowadays state the car must be road legal to be insured - if you have no tax then the vehicle is on the road illegally and therefore your insurance is invalid I would imagine if you got stopped on you I way to a post office with correct docs in the...

The picture makes it look worse than it is mate, I've not bothered to pop the door card off to push it out, will get round to it at some point, it's currently been sat for 3 weeks getting dirty outside. Giving it a run to work tomorrow mind

    Happy 140k.

You will mate, every time I look at yours it makes me miss my black one :( Still to this day it was the best engine I have had in a 172 (Followed closely by the £50 engine I chucked in my old track Exclusive, which had been standing outside for 4 months before we fitted it, had no idea on the...
